Is there a connection between Atkins death and Polanski arrest?
Atkins dies after long media cover to release her because she's old and dying, it fails, she dies in jail, then, within days Roman Polanski is arrested.

The connection is not mentioned in the M$M, not even on DU. Susan Atkins murdered Polanski's wife, Sharon Tate and their baby.

Something else that gets no mention: Polanski was in Auschwitz where his mother died. I'd guess prison holds a special meaning to him, more than just detention. Not excusing here, just noting what doesn't get noted in all these "The facts about..." posts.

That arrest is amazingly close to Atkins death.

10. what? Susan Atkins suffered from cancer, from terminal brain cancer to be
exact, for over a year. How is that "inactivity"?

2. bwahahahaha. "amazingly close to Atkins death"
Nothing amazing about it. Atkins had nothing to do with Polanski's rape of a 13 year old. There's zero reason to reference her in a story about this. There's actually more of a reason to reference Polanski's relationship with Natassia Kinsky when she was 15 and he was in his forties. Haven't seen that mentioned.

your post is a strong nominee for most ridiuclous of the day.

3. I heard on "Hardball" that...
...there was a documentary made about Polanski, the rape he committed and the story surrounding
his fleeing from the U.S. The documentary came out recently and was widely distributed in
Europe.

Many speculate, according to Matthews, that the release of this documentary sparked renewed
controversy and anger about this crime.

Thank God for documentaries.

That brings it to a matter of a week in a few months time considering how slowly government can move at times.

4. Um-m-m...
...why would anyone arrest Polanski because his wife's killer died? That would imply the arresting authorities were sympathetic to Atkins...and that would be the DoJ who is having Polanski extradited...but if the DoJ was interested in Atkins they could have affected her release. And I'm going to go out on a limb here and say AG Holder is probably not sympathetic to the Manson family.

Coincidence. An eerie coincidence but nothing more.

They probably weren't mentioned because ...
they're not that related to him raping a 13 year old girl and fleeing the country.

21. Polanski was not interred at Auschwitz.
He escaped from the Krakow Ghetto before the Nazis shipped everyone off to the camps.

His mother was murdered in Auschwitz. His father was interred at Mauthausen-Gusen and survived.

In response to the threat of imprisonment — "court sources said the film director, imprisoned in Auschwitz by the Nazis during World War II, was repelled by the thought of possibly serving more time behind bars"<...The Washington Post, February 3, 1978, "A Roman In Paris" [br />WIKI THEN POINTS TO:
http://www.vachss.com/mission/roman_polanski.html

Court sources said the film director, imprisoned in Auschwitz by the Nazis during the World War II, was repelled by the thought of possibly serving more time behind bars.

...
I have a feeling you're correct and imprisoned could be metaphorical or just plain hyperbole -- being nice.
