Best Economic analysis is on Real Time.
I'm typing this next to the TV so I can put in some direct quotes (I'm a broken down former court reporter).

Paul Krugman and Eliot Spitzer say we need more taxes, we need a middle class, we have wealth.

Krugman pointed out that universal health care will cost less than "all the money we pissed away on the war in Iraq".

Spitzer says we need long term job growth and money towards education, technology, R&D, NOT in healthcare or government.

Maher points out a large part of the economy is healthcare for sick people. And why are people sick?

Strange that there is better analysis of the situation on one of the ADULT channels (HBO) than on the news channels.

Until 1967 income was redistributed so the middle class was getting more. Since then the upper class has gotten more income. It may change with ten or eleven percent unemployment. -- Spitzer

On bad mornings I think we're a Third World Country. We're not in good shape, we have crony capitalism. Look at the numbers on social mobility - the US is way down on the list. -- Krugman

Forty years ago it was 40 to 1, now it's CEOs earning 550-to-1 times the average worker. Median household income has been absolutely flat for forty years. -- Spitzer

1. Obama is up against a lot-longtime problems, debt to other nations, and I know Congress is too
insulated to deal with anything. Easier to indentify the problems.

5. Was one of the better programs
I admit that even before the call girl I did not have a good opinion of Spitzer - not that it mattered - but was quite impressed by him this evening.

Oh, and Krugman added how we stopped three terror attempt without the use of water boarding.

6. This was an excellent show about the economy and WHY it's messed up.
BEST show I've seen in months. Either of the three experts would have been a great show, but THREE guys who know what they are talking about -- Spitzer, Krugman and Moore -- was MOST excellent.

I was so stunned at how clear these guys were, no spin, no bullshit, and I couldn't tear myself away from it, I totally forgot to get my dinner out of the microwave, until almost the end of the show!

No commercials on HBO! Damn! :D

7. you say that it's.....
''Strange that there is better analysis of the situation on one of the ADULT channels (HBO) than on the news channels. ''

no, it's not

it's obvious

it's obvious why you don't see the current Nobel Prize winning economist on many gasbag show

it's obvious that Spitzer was set up/vilified/forced from power, as the result of savaging in the M$M , while the likes of Vitter are pretty much ignored

thx for the thread, btw
