Some of those homes were saved only because they stand on marginally higher ground.

2. Hope they had enough warning, and
hope they had the right kinds of insurance. Judging just from those photos, look like pretty comfy neighborhoods.

3. My cousin lives in Lawrenceville
Her house was on decent enough ground, and the pond behind their house has adequate drainage. She has wet carpet in the basement. That's all. She said a lot of McMansions in her area that were built by a "small" creek were now under water. She lives off of (gag) Ronald Reagan Parkway.

6. And the wild part is that Lake Lainier (SP)
is not still up to capacity.
