I wonder if we will look back on the apparently-lynched census worker in Kentucky
as the first of many victims of the anti-government mania encouraged by millionaire neo-con apologists on our public airwaves and condoned by the very leadership of the once-patriotic Republican party?

6. No way.
I have more than just a little familiarity with methamphetamine addiction.
Tweakers might have shot the man, but they'd never have taken the time to hang him. And they almost certainly would have hidden the body---badly, but they'd have tried.

9. It's so unsubtle that it's unlikely to be what it's supposed to appear to be.

2. The GOP are stooges for the oligarchy and its media propagandists are no better than Goebbels...
The only difference is Goebbels was better educated, having received a PhD from Heidelberg University.

Goebbels used modern propaganda techniques to psychologically prepare the German people for aggressive war and the annihilation of civilian populations. Among other propaganda devices, he accused many of Germany's ethnic and national minorities (such as the Poles, the Jews, the French) of trying to destroy Germany, claiming that Germany's belligerent actions were taken in self-defense.

Sound familiar?

4. Officials kept the death quiet for 10 days...I'm guessing it will be ruled a suicide..

Politically inconvenient for high profile Republicans to have it be a "homicide".

His family will not only lose their breadwinner, but also his insurance. So sad.

7. They sure didn't want this out during the 9-12 media news cycle
What? Talk about a possible murder of a government worker for political reasons, while reporting about extreme anti-government protesters? That wasn't going to happen.

5. One thing the RW-nuts learned from McVeigh
only murder a few at time, so that it stays beneath the media outrage threshold.

13. You missed the point.
The poster was saying they learned from McVeigh's mistake of NOT staying under the radar.

17. My point
McVeigh was too high profile and set back the right-wing, anti-government, militia movements. These smaller attacks do not bring as much attention.

19. You are correct.
I think I may unconsciously used the 9-12 Teabagger hate-apalooza as a "starting point" since I actually witnessed that obscenity.

22. Somebody thought he was a snitch
Manchester Police Chief Jeff Culver, whose agency is not part of the investigation because the death was outside city limits, said the area where Sparkman was found has a history of problems with prescription drug and methamphetamine trading.

"That part of the county, it has its ups and downs. We'll get a lot of complaints of drug activity. They'll whittle away, then flourish back up," Culver said. He said officers last month rounded up 40 drug suspects, mostly dealers, and made several more arrests in subsequent days.

Mary Hibbard, a teacher in Manchester, said she recognized Sparkman on the news as the census worker who visited her house this summer for about 10 minutes. Hibbard said he asked some basic questions including the size of her house, how many rooms it had and how much she paid monthly for electricity.
