T -Mobile to start billing you for receiving their bills

Saturday, 05 September 2009
Not a joke! What award could we offer these wankers?

How soon before people are charged for paying their bills?

3. Mom and I were talking about this just yesterday......
her bank wants to charge for a statement. now mom doesn't get the checks as it is. They want to give you your statement on your e-mail, but Mom does not have a computer or internet connection. AT@T want to do the same thing and they know she doesn't have connections. And as a senior on a fixed income, she can't afford the extra expense. If they are going to do shit like that, they should give her free internet connections. Yeah, like that will happen, and monkeys will fly out of my butt.

What a crock of shit. Another way to 'enhance their fee income. PERIOD!!!!

5. getting your checks back gave a person a whole world of
Control. You could write out little agreements on the check - it was a contract.

Now you have to request the check, front and back sides if you have done this and need proof of agreement. And they charge EIGHT BUCKS for sending you the copy, even though the paperwork when they first insisted we "Trust" them and let them keep our checks. The banks even stated that it would NEVER create a situation different than if we had kept physical possesion of our checks.

But I cannot remember ever charging myself eight bucks to find an old check. And as the daughter of an accountant, it usually takes me less than eight minutes.

7. My Credit Union offers either online or mailing of bills
and through the online service it provides a pdf file of every check I've written. The charge for this is the cost of the checks themselves when I order them, I think it's now $6.00 per box of checks.

Why anyone deals with a bank for routine service is beyond me; a local credit union operates as a non-profit and pretty much anyone can join theses days.

6. Every month I get a 9x12 envelope from Sprint...
... with a 5 page (unfolded) statement about an employer-paid cell phone account that was closed in 1996. Apparently, I keep receiving the statement because there is a 1.5¢ credit on the account.

Every six months or so... I try calling all the numbers listed on the statement to try to get Sprint to stop sending it to me, but they can't figure where it's coming from or why.

Such a waste of paper!

15. i have heard similar tales of woe for decades.
There was someone who couldn't stop the harrassment from a company whose payment center said "she owed" money to them.

It ws a charge of zero dollars and zero cents. Not until she made out a check for zero dollars and zero cents was she able to get the harassment stopped.

I don't know how you'd go about using up one and a half cents worth of credit though!

Me neither... Is there a way to send a "collect" text message?

There is a corporate account representative listed on the bill, but Sprint claims she is not a known employee... They actually have no record of the phone number on the account as a Sprint number... They also claim it wasn't a Nextel account that Sprint may have acquired years ago... The customer service people I call also claim the bill I get doesn't physically resemble their current bills after I describe what I'm looking at.

Very mysterious. Maybe it's a bill from an alternate universe.

14. Thast's a good point, but it seems like it might be more fair
If they offer a three dollar credit (or whatever) to those who can use the internet to have an electronic account, etc.

Older people who are not converdant with the internet cannot operate the way many of us younger people do. So fo rhtem to do this, they'd ahve to learn about the internet and then also pay money for the internet.

17. Unfortunately that's how companies get their money
by exploiting those who don't know/can't. It sucks for them really. Think about it, 3 dollars a month for a piece of paper is a lot specially when you can check your balance over the phone without using your minutes.
