I really hate this guy but he does have a point.

I may be mistaten, but at this moment I haven't heard a winning strategy.

KABUL (AP) -- The Taliban's reclusive leader said in a Muslim holiday message Saturday that the U.S. and NATO should study Afghanistan's long history of war, in a pointed reminder that foreign forces have had limited military success in the country.

The message from Mullah Omar comes less than a month before the eighth anniversary of the U.S.-led invasion of Afghanistan to oust the Taliban for hosting al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden.

In his message for the upcoming Muslim holiday of Eid al-Fitr, which ends the fasting month of Ramadan, Omar said the U.S. and NATO should study the history of Alexander the Great, whose forces were defeated by Pashtun tribesmen in the 4th century B.C.

''We would like to point out that we fought against the British invaders for 80 years from 1839 to 1919 and ultimately got independence by defeating'' Britain, a statement attributed to Omar said.

I just hope Washington wises up a lot faster than the Brits did.

If the Taliban would stop waging war against women and children, they might be a force for decency there.

When women only have value as breeding stock, I'm afraid they oblige.

Kill off all the child-bearing age women and children. And prevent any other women or girls from ever entering Afghanistan.

Then educate the women and girls and give them the power to control their lives? I don't have links, but I have read studies that indicate that the most direct way to improve the economy of a country is to improve the situation of the women. Maybe a generation of males that have been raised by women will be more sane about their world view.
