Dylan Ratigan is on a roll...
He just skewered Brad Blakeman. And yesterday he let the insurance guy have it. I'm liking his show more and more. It's nice to have a morningside advocate of common sense.

1. He knows their game..
:-) And doesn't permit them to interrupt and scream over the conversation.

2. Yeah..I agree but the yelling over and at each other gets irritating.
I think he's on speed. (but he IS passionate!)

3. I saw that! It was great!
That Blakeman always makes me shout at my teevee. Ratigan really told him off and correctly labeled the Rs as a party of epithets.

6. He said the republican'ts have no ideas and that's why they lost. Blakeman
then said we'll see how things are in 2010 and Ratigan basically told him good luck with that.

19. Blakeman and Ron Christie seem to be clones of each other.
Both 110% partisan. "republicans good, Democrats bad" is their entire message, every time. I wonder what would happen if they were both on the same panel.

15. Sometimes the whole alpha-male schtick bothers me...
But he gets people to answer questions, so I deal with it.

5. I like Ratigan
I don't always agree with him, but he seems to have some committment to the truth, which is why he left his former gig.

16. I suspect Ratigan could no longer work in an environment awash with extreme RW talking-heads
constantly spewing ludicrous garbage. :P

8. He is in no way a liberal, but he demands honesty.
And I can respect that.

But it seems that the BS Republicans spew non-stop on his show is bringing him closer to our cause every day.

11. His "balance" is really annoying -- He seems a more tolerable Lou Dobbs
Edited on Fri Sep-18-09 09:06 AM by Armstead
Often when I have his show on the background, he says things that I agree with.

But he has this annoying habit of equating the "left" and the "right" as the cause of problems.

"How do we get policies that make sense for people without them bring hijacked by either the left or the right?" is a mantra he often expresses.

This is a false equivalence. It's a code word for "center right." Or, translated, "Don't get too liberal or really try to change anything for the better."

It's a form of Corporate Populism where you whine about the corporations, and demand "accountability" -- but then retreat back to the corporate middle when confronted with any real efforts to rein in corporate power.

Like everyone else. Wondering what is going to happen? A lot of uncertainty in politics and personally for most folks. Good to see you again.

17. He Took That Nut Case Orley Down As Well...
I am quite impressed with him this morning! I wish more of these anchors would just not let them talk when they start screaming and talking over everyone. Might get us back to civil conversation...that is, once the Repubs find some civil people. That might take a while.

22. Yeah, that was pretty great...
It's so hard to talk over her, but he really stood his ground and insisted that he was not going to let her spew her crazy monologue, that this was to be a back and forth discussion or nothing.

I love that she said flat out that Obama will have to show up in court on 26 January to defend himself. That can't possible be true, can it?

Also, Orly, even the craziest of the right wingers in the media have given up using Obama's middle name every time they refer to him - you can really stop that now. We know his middle name is Hussein, and he is the (legitimate) President. Those two facts are not mutually exclusive.
