When health reform is passed this year

And it includes making illegal denying for pre existing conditions, dropping people's coverage, and includes a strong public option.

When that passes without 1 Repub vote...the Republican Party's slide current into the dust bin of history will accelerate rapidly.

hey...just thinking positive here...for a change...

1. I don't think so. At least, not in the long-run. Once people see the reality of this "reform" -

see that they are "covered" but that the insurance corps will still (1) deny payment for care, (2) raise co-pays and premiums out-of-sight, and (3) criminally delay payment even when they eventually do pay, people will rightly blame the Democratic party for failing to fix the problem.

2. My dad is a real hard core repub.
He even has a plaque on his wall he got for giving money to them.
Even though he hats what bush has done, and feels like the bush admin betrayed him, but that is not my point.

My point is that he said that after Carter he would never again vote for a democrat, and he stuck to that without regret. I actually have no idea what Carter did that got under his skin.
But I am starting to get the feeling that if the dems cause the result you mentioned, there will be a lot more people who follow the path my dad did.
