Oily Teats reprimanded by judge as case is thrown out of court
U.S. District Court Judge Clay Land has thrown out a complaint questioning the president's birth from an Army captain fighting deployment to Iraq and gave a warning to her lawyer, birther maven Orly Taitz.

Land also put attorney Orly Taitz, who represents Capt. Connie Rhodes and is a leader in the national "birther" movement, on notice by stating that she could face sanctions if she ever files a similar "frivolous" lawsuit in his court.

"(Rhodes) has presented no credible evidence and has made no reliable factual allegations to support her unsubstantiated, conclusory allegations and conjecture that President Obama is ineligible to serve as president of the United States," Land states in his order. "Instead, she uses her complaint as a platform for spouting political rhetoric, such as her claims that the president is 'an illegal usurper, an unlawful pretender, an unqualified imposter.'"

Actually no I wouldn't.

As a former NCO in the US Army I only hope that they court martial her ass and put her so deep in Levenworth that they'll have to use a 155 to shoot her MRE's.

because they are directed toward someone who richly deserves much worse, and not me.

23. Other women do - it's not about what you personally are ok with
It's gender discriminatory whether you're ok with it and who it's directed toward or not. There are plenty of other things to call the woman that are not so obviously discriminatory toward the entire gender to which she is a member. It is no more appropriate to call a black Repub by the name of Ray Kuhn "Ray Coon" just because he's a jerk and you're so insensative to racial discrimination that you personally are ok with it.

Why the fuck does this shit even need to be explained. :banghead:

28. So your contention is that all gender specific terms are offensive?
Yes, I am aware of this line of reasoning, but I don't think I can subscribe to it. Certainly there are those who believe that terms like "policeman", "mailman", and "forefathers" are patently offensive and discriminatory and should be replaced with the gender neutral terms like "policeperson", "mailperson", and "ancestors", but I don't really think that line of thinking is well entrenched in mainstream thought. I'm also of the opinion that "teat" and "coon" are probably not even within a cab ride of each other in terms of how offensive they are.

All in all I welcome the discussion and am glad you offered your own explanation however begrudgingly.

Cheers!

35. It doesn't matter if YOU think YOU "can subscribe to it."
Especially after you claim to be "aware of this line of reasoning" and then completely misrepresent it. It was stated very clearly.

"There are plenty of other things to call the woman that are not so obviously discriminatory toward the entire gender to which she is a member. It is no more appropriate to call a black Repub by the name of Ray Kuhn "Ray Coon" just because he's a jerk and you're so insensative to racial discrimination that you personally are ok with it."

That's why there are DU Rules on this, which you should consult, instead of the dictionary or your own personal opinion, when posting on the group board.

"It's gender discriminatory whether you're ok with it and who it's directed toward or not."

You are violating DU Rules:

1. Do not post messages that are bigoted against (or grossly insensitive toward) any person or group of people based on their race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, lack of religion, disability, physical characteristics, or region of residence.
2. Despite our best efforts, some of our members often stray from this ideal and cheapen the quality of discourse for everyone else."
3. The fact that the rules do not forbid a certain type of post does not automatically make an uncivil post appropriate, nor does it imply that the administrators approve of disrespectful behavior.
4. ... we strongly advise that our members exercise a little common decency, rather than trying to parse the message board rules to figure out what type of antisocial behavior is not forbidden.

Personal Attacks, Civility and Respect
The administrators of Democratic Underground are working to provide a place where progressives can share ideas and debate in an atmosphere of mutual respect. Despite our best efforts, some of our members often stray from this ideal and cheapen the quality of discourse for everyone else.

Unfortunately, it is simply impossible to write a comprehensive set of rules forbidding every type of antisocial behavior. The fact that the rules do not forbid a certain type of post does not automatically make an uncivil post appropriate, nor does it imply that the administrators approve of disrespectful behavior. Every member of this community has a responsibility to participate in a respectful manner, and to help foster an atmosphere of thoughtful discussion. In this regard, we strongly advise that our members exercise a little common decency, rather than trying to parse the message board rules to figure out what type of antisocial behavior is not forbidden.

Bigotry and Broad-Brush Smears
When discussing race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, or other highly-sensitive personal issues, please exercise the appropriate level of sensitivity toward others and take extra care to clearly express your point of view.

Do not post messages that are bigoted against (or grossly insensitive toward) any person or group of people based on their race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, lack of religion, disability, physical characteristics, or region of residence.

While specific words are not automatically forbidden, members should avoid using racist, sexist, homophobic, or otherwise bigoted terminology. This includes gender-specific terms such as "cunt," "whore," "slut," "skank," or "pussy," and terms with homophobic derivation, such as "cocksucker," which are often inflammatory and inappropriate. A common exception that is permitted is the use of words like "whore" or "prostitute" in cases where public figures or the media do favors. (For example: "Fox News is whoring for the GOP again" or "Tom DeLay is a prostitute for corporate interests.")

Taint nuttin' wrong with taint references.

The Oily part? That's just a play on words.

7. Oily Taint is my favorite too.
I haven't a problem with the others, this one just sticks out to me because it's so close to her actual name. That, and I'm all about the taint. I especially love using it as an insult. Then the people usually have to wonder whether I'm using the form of the word which means a moral defect. If they ask, I'll tell them that I was referring to the stretch of skin between the ass and balls. It's also I believe the second largest erogenous zone in males.

6. I would never use the degrading term "Oily Tits"
However, "Oily Mammaries" just didn't have the same ring to it.

I did check the dictionary and "teat" is not listed as vulgar. I'm sorry you're offended and it was not my intention to offend anyone, but I'm going to have to appeal to a reasonable person literary standard here.

If it's any consolation, if she was a he and his name was Orly Nutsege, I would probably call him Oily Nutsack, even though I am quite sensitive to my own nutsack and am fully dialed in to the plight of those with sensitive nutsacks the world over.

10. I'm amazed that someone who goes by "MajorChode"
Would neglect to call her by the word "Taint". I don't know the context with which you use Chode in your user name, but I've always known it as a synonym for the perineum. Just like taint. Just an FYI, I wouldn't have a problem with Oily Teats OR Oily Tits. One may be cruder than the other, but who am I? The crudeness goblin?

18. Check the avatar
You're confusing "choad" with "Chode".

As far as crudeness goes, I would point out that the terms "asshole" and "prick" are quite commonly used here on DU with very little offense taken despite the fact that both are listed as vulgar in the dictionary and one, if not both are clearly gender specific. The term I used might be gender specific, but the person in question is after all, a woman (as least most likely is), and it certainly wasn't vulgar. So was the term crude or crass? Perhaps so, and arguably not, but offensive? I think not. Just because something is offensive to one or a few, doesn't mean it fits what a reasonable person would consider offensive(commonly referred to as the "reasonable person" standard), and that's the standard that is quite commonly used the world over in a variety of situations. To paraphrase Justice Potter Stewart, I'm not prepared to offer a shorthand definition of what is offensive, but I know it when I see it.

26. Definition of Major Chode :puke:
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=major+ch...

Chode, also spelt choad, is a variant of the word choda (penis) which comes from the Hindi word (chodna). Chodna simply means to fuck. The word chode however is what is known as a neologism. This is a word that is newly acknowledged but has not been in circulation long enough or widely enough for its social status to be determined. As it stands, the word chode has three major definitions.
1) A short, fat penis that is wider than it is longer
2) The area between the scrotum/vagina and the anus.
3) A derogatory term used to insult somebody.
1) Ducas has a fat chode.
2) Last night your mom tongued my chode.
3) Quit being such a chode.

15. I agree.
Not so much that it demeans the person being attacked, but it makes us look like a bunch of juvies. Personally, I have nothing but scorn and ridicule for this woman or other icons of conservative idiocy, but we ought to consider that DU looks pretty stupid to those who read this site when we resort to making crude manglings of the names of people whom we have a lot of justifiable disagreements with.

I do occasionally reach for this cheap effect (especially so with Smirk and Snarly), but I always try to call them by their proper names, just so there's no confusion as to whom my anger is directed towards.
