3. I sure hope it doesn't.
and I'm a democrat. It's utterly off target - it does NOT get 50 million uninsured people healthcare in the next 12 months, and it doesn't guaranty that their premiums will be less than their actual medical expenses. It's a pile of shit and it stinketh.

7. We don't need no stinkin' repukes.
It'll pass. I still see it having the Public Option, too.

6. I tend to think you're right
And if that's the case, then the Democrats should just go for a bill with a robust public option, the kind that puts the health insurance industrial complex on the "premium" footing. You want your health care hot and now? Plan on spending a couple of thousand a year to be in an insured pool that has its own stable of "premium" doctors who will cater to your every whim. There's always some overrich jerks who want to jump to the head of the line - let 'em pay for the privilege.

The rest of us can take advantage of single payer, seeing a health professional maybe not this afternoon or tomorrow morning, but within a reasonable period of time. Meds will be cheaper, as the huge number of buyers creates its own efficiencies and savings in the system.

If the Republicans want no part of that, fine. They can go the way of the Whigs.

8. They never were going to vote for it. NEVER.
Every concession Liberals made were to conservative Dems, not repukes. And, if those concession were to the repukes, the Dems are idiots. You can't trust them or work with them.

9. The party and the People forget the RNC did NOT vote for SS and Medicare EITHER
so all this drama about bipartisanship is just tiresome

And you are right, they won't
