Freepers Were FOR The Patriot Act Before They Were Against It

Now that Obama is President, and he is asking for an extension of the Patriot Act, you can easily guess the Freeper response. That's right, they are now fully opposed to it.

Here are some of their responses. I just wish they had spoken out when Bush were President.

And by the way, I feel it should be allowed to expire. Any small part of it that was useful to the FBI/CIA for stopping terrorism should be drafted in a bill that does not take away the rights of the people. I'm glad most, if not all, of DU opposes the Patriot Act extensions as we would have under any President.

The Patriot Act needs to go. There are better ways to protect freedom than stomping on the 4th. The amendments were put in place by our founding fathers for a reason, to protect “we the people”. It doesn’t matter if Bush put this in place it is still anti-freedom.

Good for government masters, but not good for free people.

Close the border then we’ll talk.

When they passed that anti-constitutional, Nazi-like unPatriotic bill, (and every freeper was so in favor of it, they flooded the Congress in support of the bill) did they bother to stop and think? Did they consider that a Democratic President might use that law to hide illegal activity and abuse the American citizen as easily as the bush did?
