Freepers Were FOR The Patriot Act Before They Were Against It
Edited on Wed Sep-16-09 09:35 AM by berni_mccoy
Now that Obama is President, and he is asking for an extension of the Patriot Act, you can easily guess the Freeper response. That's right, they are now fully opposed to it.

Here are some of their responses. I just wish they had spoken out when Bush were President.

And by the way, I feel it should be allowed to expire. Any small part of it that was useful to the FBI/CIA for stopping terrorism should be drafted in a bill that does not take away the rights of the people. I'm glad most, if not all, of DU opposes the Patriot Act extensions as we would have under any President.

Some Freeper Flip Flops: ( http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2340369/posts )

The Patriot Act needs to go. There are better ways to protect freedom than stomping on the 4th. The amendments were put in place by our founding fathers for a reason, to protect we the people. It doesnt matter if Bush put this in place it is still anti-freedom.

Good for government masters, but not good for free people.

Close the border then well talk.

Exactly. If there is no will to close the border then there is no serious intention of dealing with terrorism. Its about accruing power to the federal government. Fascism.

1. Hey, dumbass Freepers, I'll say this one more time...

We
Told
You
So!

Eventually, you'll just have to admit that we were right about everything, and you were wrong about everything.

2. If you're going to poke around in Freeperville, I have an idea.
Go back and find posts from THE SAME PEOPLE on that topic.

I bet you'll hit the jackpot.

3. If Dems said they loved Freepers, freepers would immediately denounce freepers.
All they're trained to think is "opposite of whatever any Dem/liberal says".

4. Their hatred is all about who is in the WH and not his policies.
I visit a college web site to gather info about colleges for my sons. And they allow the site to rant about politics. And no surprise, they hate Obabma, the socialist. What is funny about it is how many also post at other forum subjects their complaints about how the feds don't give them a fair shake on student loans, and I don't mean the ones you have to pay back. I just scratch my head. they hate socialism, except the ones that affect them.

Bush in Office:
Freepers for Patriot Act
Obama against Patriot Act

Obama in Office:
Freepers against Patriot Act
Obama for Patriot Act

Reminds me of 1984.

6. What a bunch of stupid, ignorant idiots.
When they passed that anti-constitutional, Nazi-like unPatriotic bill, (and every freeper was so in favor of it, they flooded the Congress in support of the bill) did they bother to stop and think? Did they consider that a Democratic President might use that law to hide illegal activity and abuse the American citizen as easily as the bush did?

Did they bother to think out anything? Stupid thy name is FREEPER.

7. People who opposed the Patriot Act were called terrorists...
Edited on Wed Sep-16-09 10:00 AM by CoffeeCat
...and terrorist sympathizers, by the same Freepers, who now oppose the Patriot Act.

I am so angry at these jerks. The cheer lead tyranny--when they are in power and they
whine like little babies when the other side amasses that same tyranny.

They love the Constitution when they're out of power--but they're willing to trash
the Constitution when their guy is in office.

In other words---to hell with our Constitution when we've got the power.

These people are so damn immature. They stand for nothing. They are ignorant fools.

I am against the Patriot Act now, as I was when Bush was in office---because I have some
damn principles. These people are just buffoons. They have no credibility and that's
sad--because we need "We The People" fighting against stuff like the Patriot Act, but there's
no way I'm on the same team as these jerks.

Has any one class of people ever been this completely moronic?

11. The question to me is, how many Obama supporters will flip flop over this?
And go from being against it to making excuses as to why it's ok now.

I personally couldn't less what the Freepers think about it...or anything else, for that matter. Fuck 'em. I do care what Dems think of these things though.

12. It begs the question: Is President Obama playing them by asking for extensions?
Just wondering. He always seems to be several steps ahead of his supporters, it's a wonder the FReepers can even see him off in the distance.
