Now that Obama is President, and he is asking for an extension of the Patriot Act, you can easily guess the Freeper response. That's right, they are now fully opposed to it.
Here are some of their responses. I just wish they had spoken out when Bush were President.
And by the way, I feel it should be allowed to expire. Any small part of it that was useful to the FBI/CIA for stopping terrorism should be drafted in a bill that does not take away the rights of the people. I'm glad most, if not all, of DU opposes the Patriot Act extensions as we would have under any President.

The Patriot Act needs to go. There are better ways to protect freedom than stomping on the 4th. The amendments were put in place by our founding fathers for a reason, to protect “we the people”. It doesn’t matter if Bush put this in place it is still anti-freedom.
Good for government masters, but not good for free people.

Exactly. If there is no will to close the border then there is no serious intention of dealing with terrorism. It’s about accruing power to the federal government. Fascism.
