Conservatives say they believe in charity, not government programs. Yet, we find that over 1 million American students this year are living in homeless situations. Apparently, Conservatives' "charity" has not solved this problem, yet Conservatives oppose any government programs that would reduce homelessness. Conservatives are not outraged by the existence of so many homeless American families. They are outraged when they learn that a homeless person might own a cell phone. Conservatives are America's real garbage.

3. I think this is a bit off base

I think that might pretty well describe today's neo-conservatives - the limbaugh/beck/hannity hate mongers.

But I think there are lots of conservatives that are fine people - both financial conservatives and "real" conservatives. Might not agree with them totally but, you can carry on a conversation with them and discuss issues.

They are NOT to be confused with the loud, hate-infested batch of cretins that currently own the party.

If you refuse to dehumanize your political opponents because you believe they will somehow like you more if you don't, that's pretty wimpy.

Atheists or a religious group are Americans garbage; homo or heterosexuals are americans garbage. How is massive grouping of people you don't even know into demonized groups progressive in any way. Its the same as free republic just different nouns.
