We have had for a while an aggressive-on-paper public-option here called DirigoChoice, for small businesses, individuals, and the otherwise uninsured, but can't get the legislature to fund it adequately. Probably never will, because the requirements for eligibility for adults -- kids are different -- are so stringent it's now become in effect another welfare program, and that's political death for a program.

Residents have favored health-care expansion legislation in the past, cf the 2003 Dirigo Health Reform Act, but have been equally adamant in refusing to fund it.

i got lost last year trying to get to the friggin mall in portsmouth when i was up for xmas...
what kills me is, they just built what i've heard is one of the largest wal-marts in the country in sanford, and i fear they will drive shaw's and hannaford out of business :(

will plummet -- to 25 percentage points. She has, by some measures, the safest seat in the Senate.

could run against her. That's not until next year any how. People will have forgotten by then.

Yeah.. I think it sucks that both of our senators seem to be against the public option.
