Has any body seen any debunking of the Acorn Prostitution Story?
For those who don't know there's a video clip of a guy visiting Acorn offices and asking them for help in setting up a prostitution business, which they gladly provide, even when he tells them he is bring up 13 year olds from El Salvador to turn tricks as well. It stinks like last Tuesday's Cod Special to me, but I am wondering if anybody has seen it debunked yet - it just popped today (suspicious timing as well).

Here's Fox News coverage of it --> http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,548827,00.html?test=latestnews

Fox News seems to be the closest thing to a reputable news organization touching it fo now.

1. Pox is not a credible news source
It is a reputable one, but that reputation is lousy.

I expect to see a few lawsuits coming out of this one. Obviously it was a an over the top joke tape that some credulous idiot took seriously.

Give this the dead fish test. It will start to stink within 3 days.

3. Has any body seen any debunking of the Acorn Prostitution Story?
AP is reporting that the two ACORN employees have just been fired. So looks like the story is valid. Sad. Scary to watch these ladies acting like sex traffiking of 14 year olds from Central America is a legit business -- and offer tax advice to declare them as "dependants." : (

is that not the end of the story?
What does alleged child rapist and murderer Glenn Beck have to say about the story?

18. didn't say any laws were broken...
but there may have been...
I do find it serious when someone would not try to discourage someone from bringing in 14 year olds and putting them into prostitution, and actually assists them with ways of doing it.

20. Serious, possibly. Stupid, definitely.
I watched one video on youtube and all of the questions that were supposedly asked of the women were dubbed over.

That did not build my confidence that the people making these claims are honest.

11. I'm saddened that someone was that stupid to fall for a pathetic modern day minstrel show
The person should have been fired for being an incompetent, the actors participating should be ashamed of themselves, and of course a scumbag like Andrew Breitbart is behind most of it.

I'm a graduate of the Missouri School of Journalism (granted -- back in the day...) but we LIVED for investugative reporting like this. I won an award from the Missouri Broadcasting Association for a similar undercover story about arson. I think your anger against the reporters is misplaced.

And what does her point about journalism count for anyway? She's responding to someone who responded to the OP, not to her. So what's with this "I'm a journalist" charge out of the blue???

There are a ton of people with journalism degrees running around Washington and look at the shit they call "news".

25. Maybe I'm just too old...
... but is this supposed to be a threat? And -- let me get this straight -- is this story about offering advice to set up a brothel for traffiking teenage girls not even the LEAST bit upsetting to you??????

BTW -- do you have any children??? Yikes!

And I'm not sure what "trolling" is -- but I like to read a variety of opinions. I have definitely learned a lot in FIVE MINUTES that I certainly wish I hadn't.

BTW - I supported Obama. I couldn't stand McCain. I guess I better head under the bridge. Sheesh!

I'm just someone who thinks sex traffiking of teenage girls is not a legitimate bussiness -- and listening to someone trying to come up with a tax code "performing artist" is just creepy. WHY would someone want to attack me for this position? Am I missing something?

40. If you want people on here to take you seriously then you should at least enable your profile.
This isn't investigative journalism, it's entrapment. If you try the stunt at enough offices you're bound to eventually find one or two idiots who will go along with it and give advice.

The idea that this is Acorn policy is simply ludicrous. They have nothing to gain by giving out this kind of advice and everything to lose. One or two isolated amoral idiots who fall into a trap doesn't prove anything. At worst it may indicate a problem with hiring practices at some Acorn offices.

39. Not that you care, but a few points
1. I listen to and read right wingers because I have a blog in which I criticize right wingers; hard to do it without reading them.

2. I am assuming that this story has legs, unfortunately. It seems very fishy to me and I want to see it taken apart - I looked around and couldn't see anything but being at work couldn't look around that much.

35. Yeah....
... nothing to see here; just a "community organization" giving advice on tax evasion, child prostitution, dodging truant and immigration officers, etc. I guess my point is what the hell is wrong with all of us if we try to push this off? Come on; we raised hell about Jeff Gannon and Tom Foley, but we're downplaying an organization that is close to the President giving advice on setting up a child brothel??!!??

How many Acorn offices did they visit before they found one or two idiots who would actually give them advice?

It's ridiculous to believe that giving this kind of advice is Acorn policy. They'd have nothing to gain by giving such advice, and everything to lose.
