The American Family Association and the rest of the fundies have been getting fines levied against liberals forever. Howard Stern was fired and fined because of these pukes numerous times.

If we don't turn the tables we'll be left with RePUKES at every location on the dial.

It isn't a free speech issue. Imus can start his own INTERNET radio show or blog.

Imus isn't entitled to fill that radio slot until he dies.

Calling activists "fascists" is a joke.

1. I think his contract will determine whether he's entitled to a paycheck.
CBS can terminate/cancel him if they want, but there is that matter of a contract.

2. Agreed. Thank you
Using the language of the conservatives who blasted The Dixie Chicks. We're using the free market and it's deciding. Proctor & Gamble, Staples, and American Express pulled their ads from MSNBC, and the network responded to that market statement.

3. Actually, the ironic thing is, depending on what Imus's contract says . . .
. . . he may well still be entitled to a paycheck. He just isn't entitled to be on the air.

4. If you are talking about Will Pitt's thread, that's not what he meant.

He clarifies in responses #25 and #32. He believes the way activists approached this was exactly correct and that the system worked perfectly in this instance.

If you're not talking about this thread, please excuse me. I've been away from DU most of the day and I likely missed something.

6. I agree
People are protecting their own ability to be pigs.

Nobody can bitch about corporate media control anymore. When they had a chance to get in there and make change, they chose to buy into the spin, lock stock and barrel.

I'm disgusted beyond words.

7. I agree
I really don't understand the fascist meme as applied to Imus.
