Why do you support the interests of private health insurance monopolies over the real and urgent needs of working people in your district?
The Republican plan that you favor would mandate that all Americans buy into a private health insurance plan with no price controls and no legal recourse in case of denials of coverage by private "death panels" or arbitrary rate increases or dropping of coverage due to illness or pre-existing conditions. It would amount a multi-trillion dollar subsidy of private industry with working people reduced to the status of cash cows to augment the multi-billion dollar salaries of insurance executives. Under your Republican system, we would be given a take-it-or-die "choice", either buy their "insurance" at inflated rates or be denied all health-care, period. Your system would cause all but the wealthiest to become literal slaves of the insurance companies, unable to challenge or even question or protest their stranglehold on working people. Your system will ensure that I can never leave a job without losing any chance of ever getting health care.
What's next? Repeal Medicare and Medicaid and Social Security, leaving regular people to an existence comparable with Dickensian England or the favelas and slums of the Third World?
Do you hate working people that much or do we even cross your mind while the insurance execs wine and dine you? You seem awfully cozy with Wall Street and K Street, but streets like Burnet and Koenig and Rundberg and Lamar can all drop dead, right? When will you stand up for the people that you are supposed to represent?
Sincerely, Martin L****** Resident of the 10th District
P.S.
I'm not holding out any hope that I will receive any response. After all, I didn't write you a campaign check or even vote for you. I'm guessing that only Republicans and wealthy donors will ever get any help or consideration from the likes of you.
