Someone asked me last night "Who's behind you people?" when I handed him a Medicare for All flier.

At first I was puzzled, because I couldn't imagine what he meant. When he restated himself a little, I realized that he thought that I am part of somekind of powerful national organization that is trying to do something (I couldn't quite figure out what). I'm not. It's just me and my friends from around here who decided to advocate for Health Care/Insurance Reform. We decide for ourselves what that's going to be. We do not maintain contact within any kind of hierarchy or ask others what to do. He would not believe me. I walked on, but it made me think how much projection and displacement are going here.

People who quite possibly themselves are dependent upon external authority and HATE that fact are projecting themselves onto others, because though they may talk a big game, they really don't or can't imagine how to act in - dependent - ly.

He probably wondered how anyone could POSSIBLY have a strong opinion on something without it being explained in over-simplistic terms by some authoritarian figure on TV.
