If Obama drops the public option, will the members of the Progressive Caucus
stand strong as they've said they will, or will most of them capitulate and eventually support a plan without a public option. So much depends on them.

1. I don't think they'll cave
I could be wrong, but I think they really do feel they've compromised enough
If they do give their Caucus will border on irrelevancy

6. Bingo, if they cave they're done as a caucus.
If they do not cave then the administration has to negotiate with them on EVERYTHING moving forward.

2. If they cave, they'll continue to be doormats.
Apparently you can only get attention in Congress if you gum up the works.

3. They will cave and then offer a twisted
explanation why the settled. Remember these are politicians who care primarily about themselves. They are also Democrats, a party not used to standing on its own principles but allows the extreme right to set the agenda.

4. This could get really bizarre before it's over.
Could you imagine progressives voting with Blue Dogs and Repukes and against Obama? Talk about weird!
