Why do I get the impression that Obama is trying for "change" but nefarious forces think otherwise?

He want to do good things for everyone but they make sure that he doesn't - OR ELSE?

Does anyone else feel that way? That he's continuing Bush's policies or else? The reason I say this is because every time that there is someone that wants to make things better for everyone - they get killed for it.

Talk me down as they say.

I agree there are assholes (mainly capitalist pigs who will never give a damn about anyone but themselves) running a good bit of the show (the show being EVERYTHING) but there has also been progress. What do you really expect? Our entire way of life is rife with selfishness and an inability to reason properly. That aside...the gun thing... People LOVE to talk about that...kind of the way Republicans and their duped constituents are a bunch of death necks. They love everything about death; rally around it. I don't get it. Of all the ways one could frame your point...the way you chose to do so is sensationalistic And shallow, really. Isn't it obvious to all of us that we're talking about one man, a few people in congress yet perhaps a majority of the country, who don't really have the means to affect change without a fundamental paradigm shift in education & media?

I'm MIHOP so I'd never call you paranoid! I just think the "gun to the back" reference is a bit reckless if you care about the man...a little cavalier. The problem with real change is quite complicated and I'm not sure you are doing any of us a service by calling up an image of a few people controlling Obama at gunpoint.

Who the? Actually, when Obama took in Hillary I was having those thoughts. But since then I've realized the President once again made the correct choice.

23. The new boss has met the real bosses.

He's first and foremost a politician whose main concern is acquiring and retaining power. As usual, he's going after the "moderate" votes by being "moderate" in his policies. Which means answering to the corporations, the military, and the media.

"Change", "Hope", "Peace", "Transparency" are political slogans, not policies.

Tinkering with a corrupt system of government might make it a little bit less corrupt, but the system itself remains corrupt and politicians owe their allegiance to it.
