| Holding out on prosecution until Healthcare reform is in place? |
|
Seems like every week there is new info on Bush/Cheney Co run amok with the political system. Activities that appear to be clearly illegal. Investigators hands tied (eg. torture investigation) who may and may not be swept up into the net.
Is there any possibility that overt prosecution of any past administrative personnel was being hindered/delayed to try and gain Bipartisan votes in the health care bill?

| 1. I doubt we'll see any new prosecutions of any high level Bush officials, ever. |
|
The conviction of Scooter Libby, whose sentence Bush commuted, is the extent I expect to see in terms of Bush officials we've heard of.

an obcvious disadvantage to do any sort of prosecution upfront. As pointed out, in the end it didn't really make any difference in getting Rep votes for the bill. But there was no way to know that a while ago.
eta: If I was a Rep, I would have used this for a behind the scenes negotiating chip....but I'm not a Rep, and apparently they didn't think of it either lol
