| A quick note to President Obama |
|
Mr. President, Should you fail to sign a health care reform bill that includes the public option, you will have provided your enemies with unlimited ammunition. They will paint you as ineffectual, a lightweight, that they can safely ignore. You have no choice sir; you must win this battle, or your presidency will be as good as finished, before even passing its first year.
Do not for a moment think that you can be victorious with weasel words. Anything less than a true public option will mean that that big business, and its minions in the (let us not forget, Soundly Defeated) Republican Party, brought you to heel and imposed their will upon you.
It was bold of you, sir, to begin a battle of such magnitude at the beginning of your term. The outcome will set the tone of the ensuing years. Be assured, this is for all the marbles. If you don't win... you lose.
Very respectfully, -JM

the same people who have been derailing health care since the 30s will win once more. This is one of the longest injustices ever perpetrated upon the American people. It either stops now, or the same song and dance will continue as it has for more than half a century.

| 5. The insurance co's are this era's robber-barons. |

They've made serfs of us all, and they'll do everything they can to keep us that way. I believe Obama is our best hope for turning this situation around. If he, a charismatic and eloquent man, swept into power with the greatest mandate seen in decades, can't do it... then the problem is likely insurmountable.
