their corporate masters at gunpoint.
It is the corrupt corporate media which gives such people their power.
It was the the corrupt corporate media which gained its vast powers by getting the Fairness Doctrine repealed under Reagan and the obscenely corrupt Telecommunications Act passed and signed under Clinton.
The messengers don't matter and can be easily replaced.
It's time for our Democratic leadership and candidates to stand up to the communications czars by reestablishing the Fairness Doctrine and repealing the Telecommunications Act which concentrated so much power in the corporations' hands, replacing it with one which regulates the industry and returns control of the airways to the American people.
It is time to stop the self-serving posturing of going after Imus, who may be down now, but is no better nor no worse than he has been for years. It is time to stop whining about the symptoms and go after the disease, itself. It is time to attack the real problem of corrupt, right-wing corporate control.
Reestablish the Fairness Doctrine now!
Repeal the Telecommunications Act and pass a new, fair one now!
