For all the craziness you all have probably been shaking your heads at the last few weeks
the glaring exclusion in the public discussion (big surprise huh?) is that grammas are already being let to wither away.

It works like this:
the treatment team (which typically involves the bedside nursing crew) appeals to private insurers and/or Medicare for services to be continued. All appeals must be answered within 72 hours.
Two appeals are possible. If they both fail (which they often do) an appeal is made to Maximus who also have 72 hours to respond.
