"We're overwhelmed" -- Trip report
Edited on Wed Aug-12-09 03:07 PM by abumbyanyothername
It's my birthday and I gave myself the gift of heading down to Senator Feinstein's LA field office to make my case for HR676.

According to a pleasant young man named Ben, they were overwhelmed because "Organizing for America didn't tell us you were coming." Yes, Ben, that was the idea. That Senator Feinstein understand that we don't give a damn about her concern over another "entitlement." We want a strong public option and a good proportion, if not majority, of us actually want single payer.

Ben handed me a handout on "The Affordable Health Choices Act" which, unfortunately does not contain a strong public option. I will be writing to Molly O'Brien (Molly_O'[email protected] -- for some reason hmtl adds a slash in molly's email where it doesn't belong so you have to type it yourself, with an underscore between Molly and O'Brien) to express my concern that the Senate bills are just a front for a $1 Trillion give away to the insurance industry.

There were no pinheads, teabaggers or anyone carrying weapons.

OFA is having an effect and affecting perspectives.

5. I don't see why they can't just make it simple.
Buy Medicare if you want it. Buy private if you want that.

We have the Santa Monica Public Library, and Barnes and Noble and Amazon.com.

What's the big deal?
