So apparently the Conservative argument for NOT rescuing the journalists is...
...it makes North Korea look too nice. It's a dangerous and evil dictatorship, so it's good PR for Kim Jong Il if they look somewhat merciful, and what's good PR for North Korea is overall bad PR for the US, because they're our enemies.

But the alternative was just to leave them there? Was this like when they said Ahmadinejad's reelection would be better for the US than his defeat?

3. It's going to take a while to get rid of the stink of the last eight
years - especially in foreign policy matters. Bush/Cheney pounded the "axis of evil" into our heads and many people believe it. There are many problems with N. Korea, but it's going to take an adult administration to work with that. We finally have one :-).

4. its the same mentality that the Fox News analyst used
when he inferred that it would be better for the Taliban to execute the soldier they have in custody.

The same mentality that they had when they hoped the boat captain would be murdered by the Somali Pirates.

6. They don't have an argument. If GW Bush had sent his daddy to do the
exact same thing, they'd be praising it as a great success, a victory over North Korea, etc. Everyone knows it. They're playing a silly game.
