Columnists Ellen Goodman and Kathleen Parker jealous of Sarah Palin

Ellen Goodman and Kathleen Parker's acerbic columns on July 10 about Sarah Palin proves that the media is still full of vindictive jealousies. The feminists couldn't stand to see a woman with moral turpitude and genuine American pride and values. Palin didn't have the vicious training to retaliate with the "media barracudas." Sarah Palin's life has been an example of goodness, determination and acceptance of responsibilities. These are the qualities of the grass-roots America that I know.

Deborah Allen, Tamarac

Definition of "Moral turpitude":

14. that plus
* Attending meetings and racing across the continent with water broken to deliver on home turf (or as one brilliant DUer put it to give birth on the spawning ground of her species or something to that effect)

* Dragging a special needs infant around the country while running for VP

* Inciting race hate and physical threats on our President

Although, to give her credit, in response to a couple of many "frivolous" ethics charges, she did give back the money she stole from Alaska when she:

* charged per diem for working at home
* charged for her children's travel expenses

Seriously, she is a perfect example of moral turpitude. So this is NOT a TOTAL FAIL; the LTTE writer is half right. :D

6. Wow. I guess this writer doesn't realize Sarah quit her job recently
Sarah Palin's life has been an example of ... determination and acceptance of responsibilities.

I don't know many potential employers who would consider quitting your prior job with 18 months left in your contract as meeting the definition of "acceptance of responsibilities."

8. They are jealous of the "moral turpitude" ...
because any minor infraction of rules by a Dem/Lib, like jaywalking, gets them in trouble ...

yet Palin's "moral turpitude" gets not only a free pass, but is celebrated by the Repugs ...

and yes, they're jealous, because Palin will be allowed to get away with murder, with the "liberal media's" blessing ...

17. Oh, boy....
Counter with this... http://www.adn.com/palin/story/888057.html

Sarah Palin resigned more than a week ago but a state watchdog agency and the courts are still sorting out issues left over from her time as governor.

In one lingering issue, the Alaska Public Offices Commission has refused Palin's request to keep secret the discounts that come from her husband's Arctic Cat sponsorship. APOC also said Palin needs to disclose all the gifts she received last year, rejecting her interpretation that she doesn't need to until after she gets around to actually opening the gifts.

Palin has told APOC "there are boxes of unopened mail at this point, even mail that was delivered in 2008."

Another question also pending is whether private e-mail accounts can be used for state business, a hot-button issue for a time under Palin. A judge on Tuesday heard arguments in a lawsuit by Anchorage activist Andree McLeod, who is seeking to ban the practice and is arguing it could hide information the public has a fundamental right to see.

18. Spell checker, sure, that helped the Freeps out a lot
Unfortunately, no one has yet programmed something that stops a person's writing and asks, "Excuse me, but do you even know what that word you just used means?"

Though I have to say, "moral turnips" is a pretty good name for these deluded, hypocritical, self-appointed, self-righteous, right-wing culture warriors.

19. How delightfully ironic.
I guess the word "rectitude" was too icky-sounding, so the writer substituted another big word in the hopes that no one would notice.

25. other funny stuff
  • Kathleen Parker is described as a feminist.
  • "Palin didn't have the vicious training to retaliate with the media barracudas." Actually, she has a degree in communications with an emphasis in journalism.

    29. Suggested response:
Deborah Allen speaks the truth! It is obvious that Ellen Goodman and Kathleen Parker have a problem with people of moral turpitude holding office. And obviously, Sarah Palin's degree in Communication did not prepare her for battle with the "media barracudas" -- in spite of her claim that she is a "pit bull with lipstick", and in spite of her competitive nature as reflected by her own college sports nickname, "Sarah Barracuda". Finally, Ms. Allen is right that Sarah Palin is "an example of goodness, determination and acceptance of responsibilities" -- that is, if by "goodness, determination and acceptance of responsibilities" you mean bailing out of an office that you ran for and won, and a commitment to serve for a four year term, just a little more than halfway through the term.

In other words, Deborah Allen has an excellent grasp of reality, if by "reality" you mean "made-up stuff".
