Arnold Schwarzenegger's polling numbers enter the realm of Bush and Cheney territory

I'm shocked it's this high really.

A new PPIC Poll in California shows Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's (R) job approval rating dropped to a new low of 28%.

The last time a California governor's approval rating was that low was in 2003 when then-Gov. Gray Davis faced a recall election and was in a budget standoff with the Legislature.
A record-low 14% of Californians believe the state is headed in the right direction.

Can we find out who the 14% are that believe CA is headed in the right direction.
Atrios reminds us about the media obbsession over Arnold.

It's important to remember just how large a role our Village media had in promoting Arnold back in the day.

I wonder how many people that wanted to change the constitution so the Terminator could run for president now are birthers.

1. That's too bad.
Bush and Cheney are evil.

Ahnold is just clueless.

They don't belong in the same Circle of Hell.

2. Politics offered a winning game until Bush-Cheney drove the car off the cliff
If you look back on Schwarzenegger's career, it's a mix of avoiding Bush like the plague and slow-dancing with him when it fit his agenda.

There is literally no consistency whatsoever in his relationship with the Crawford Kick-Ass Cowboy.

So for that reason alone, I kind of like the fact that he's in the same circle. Because leaders lead, and wafflers waffle.

:patriot:

3. We need a finer caliper to gage morality
I'm not saying he's innocent, far from it.

I'm saying there is a special circle in hell for Cheney, Bush, Rumsfeld, Gonzalez, and Rove.

And Ahnold should not distract the Prince of Darkness from his duties to that special group of people.

4. I agree...
...and all I can picture are some of the "pigs at the trough" images I've seen in Rolling Stone's political reporting of the last few years.

I think that Arnie clearly saw when the game changed. But he was already IN it, which makes it tough, if not impossible, for him to distance himself from the people who changed it...BUT...

...he DID see it, he DID have that chance, and he chose to keep on playing the game. So I'm comfortable with him paying the "guilt by association" price, only because he chose to remain associated.

Not fair, to be sure, but I'm pretty confident that I'll be long dead and buried before the word "fair" is ever applied to politics.

6. Arnold is not just clueless. He's been trying to kill our social programse
ever since he took office. Really awful stuff, too, like wheelchair access and reducing the number of hours animals are held before they are killed. He doesn't rise to the level of Cheney but he's not just stupid, at all.

7. Explain to 5,000 dead soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan
how your moral outrage for Arnold is on the same level as your outrage for what the Bush gang did to them.

It's just not in the same scale of cruelty and evil.

That's all I'm saying.

8. Oh, please. I said it didn't rise to the level of Cheney.
But it's simply not true that Ahnold is just clueless. He is minor league evil bastard.
