Tonight on Countdown. Just in case anyone wants to know
President Bush on Tuesday invited Democrats to discuss their standoff over a war-spending bill, but he made clear he would not change his position opposing troop withdrawals. The White House bluntly said the meeting would not be a negotiation. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18035495/

Ohio's governor said Tuesday he is worried that National Guard troops who have been told to prepare for a possible deployment to Iraq won't have proper training and equipment. "These men and women are going to be paying the price, I think, for failure to adequately plan, to predict, and it troubles me," Gov. Ted Strickland told National Public Radio's Morning Edition. National Guard troops in Ohio, Arkansas, Indiana and Oklahoma are preparing to serve as replacement forces in the regular troop rotation for the war. The 37th Infantry Brigade Combat Team in Columbus is being called up for the second time in two years, though past practice would have dictated they not be called again until 2009, Strickland said. http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2007-04-10-governor-iraq_N.htm

Rutgers women's basketball team will meet with embattled radio host Don Imus, and their coach on Tuesday called his comments "racist and sexists remarks that are deplorable, despicable and unconscionable." Players stopped short of saying whether they thought Imus should be fired. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17999196/
Imus also had a lively exchange with Matt Lauer today.

In a county where any housing within close to a half-mile of a school is off-limits for sex offenders, five convicts have been forced to call the low space under the Julia Tuttle Causeway home. http://cbs4.com/local/local_story_097165452.html

Howard K. Stern is not expected to continue his fight for custody of Anna Nicole Smith's daughter if DNA tests reveal photographer Larry Birkhead is the child's father. Results of the DNA test of baby Dannielynn are due to be revealed in a Bahamas courtroom today. http://www.newsday.com/entertainment/ny-etanna105165162apr10,0,6096003.story?coll=ny-top-headlines

2. Thanks for the heads-up, I'll be watching
I saw The Hamper on TV today. Asshole said Democrats were going to starve the troops with their political stunt. I had to change the channel plus start hitting the suds early. Hold my hand. Breathe in, breathe out.
