Is anyone in Mt. talking about challenging Baucus in the primary?
The man's proven he's not a Democrat, so clearly we need to get someone there who is. And Obama just barely lost Montana himself, so a real Democrat is clearly electable in the state. Anyone know of any possibilities?

4. Perhaps the work needs to begin now, though.
Montana has always had a Populist/Progressive streak. Tester on a good day shows some of that.

6. I'm not even sure Baucus will run again. He will be 74 in 2014. And he has a pile of money, so
he would be hard to take on for most people.

8. Montana is a cheap state to run in
If there's genuine discontent with him among Montana Democrats and a good candidate is willing to run then I think they could raise sufficient funds to run a campaign.

7. I don't think it comes down to
Populist/Progressive. I think it comes down to morality. If a politician is willing to sell their vote to higher bidder they don't deserve the office. I am feckin' sick of this bullshit!

3. If Baucus blocks health care reform
I guarantee you Democrats won't be in the majority after the 2010 election. It will be a repeat of 1994 and for much the same reason: a majority party of weak, ineffectual do nothings has failed the country again.

Baucus might find himself replaced by a GOP.

History does repeat itself and if the Democrats don't get it together this time and deal with a 60 year problem, they will have the shortest majority in history.

I don't think a single one of those old boys realizes just what the mood of the country is regarding the for profit insurance companies.

9. Instead of planning for a race five an a half years off, IF Max runs again
How 'bout we pressure DEM leadership to remove him from important committees NOW?

In fact, I'd sorta like to see Reid knocked out of his leadership position too. He doesn't seem to understand the job.

IF Max runs again, we will find someone to challenge him in primary. Likely the seat will go GOP if we don't get some action from Capital Hill DEMS NOW.
