check in: folks who have NEVER seen Don Imus and couldn't give...
...three shakes of a rat's buttocks about his ranting. Good LORD all the heat and hot air some twit on TV has generated these last few days on DU is unseemly!

I have never in my life seen Don Imus, as far as I'm aware. Turn your TVs off. Irritants like Imus go away instantly.

4. The country could have said the same thing about Janet Jackson's
booby, but they didn't. After all, it was just a booby.

Imus, on the other hand, is reichwing boob.

And I have never seen Don Imus.

But I admit that all the prejudice in the threads about it gets to me. I can't stand prejudice.

7. It's not important because you don't watch it?
TWO major networks give him air time: WFAN and MSNBC.

That makes him important whether you watch him or not.

His ranting means absolutely nothing to me. It's beneath unimportance. It does not exist. What better way to steal some talking gasbag's thunder than to simply not give him an audience?

I see a fair bit about television/radio "personalities" whom I've never heard of before. Like you I've never listened to Don Imus and really don't know anything about him apart from the recent brouhaha.

So many people, so many scandals, so little time.

19. it will go away in this case....
The ONLY thing that drives access to a media forum is audience. If enough people improve their quality of life by turning off the box because it gives twits like Imus a platform, the twits will disappear in short order.

28. Imus is our very own Anna Nicole Smith...
...who I've never seen either and wouldn't know from Imus if I saw them both on the street -- although I guess she'd be the deader of the two. Expecting anything approaching intelligence from people who make their living as TV "personalities" is like expecting BushCo to lead the way in combatting global climate change. The best you're ever going to get out of TV is faux controversy for idiots drunk on celebrity worship, and faux news for a world that doesn't exist. And that's on a good day.

30. I don't watch Imus either.
But somebody does. In fact, Imus makes a pretty good living doing what he does. It give him legitimacy.
I say things on this board that pisses people of. I was deleted a couple of days ago. But let me make this clear. I would never think to post anything I wouldn't say to you face to face. Imus doesn't hide behind the first amendment, he hides behind a microphone. I can't be the only one here that wishes I could reach down one of these tubes at times and grab someone by the scruff of the neck and shake them around. And he's just as safe.
When I saw the vid of him confronting those women, face to face, he didn't become emotional, he was scared to death. He's a white man that's terrified by blacks. I wonder how he feels now?

The reason you live in a culture of hate and antagonism is because of people like Imus - and Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Coulter, etc. Ignoring them since the 80's is how we got here.
