Be afraid: "Glenn Beck likes to bring his gun to the movies."
Glenn Beck likes to bring his gun to the movies.

This afternoon, the Senate defeated an amendment sponsored by Sen. John Thune (R-SD) that would have allowed individuals with concealed carry gun permits to carry firearms into another state. Later on Fox News, Glenn Beck interviewed Thune to discuss the measure. “We’re going to disagree,” Beck warned Thune, but later, he made sure to present his gun-totin’ bona fides. “I’m a gun owner, and I’m a member of the NRA, and I am a concealed weapons permit holder. So, I mean, I love guns!” Beck boasted. He then aired a clip of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg criticizing concealed carry laws. “They’ll be able to go to the movies with guns and there will be nothing that our police officers can do about it,” Bloomberg complained. Beck then mocked Bloomberg’s concern:

BECK: I went to the movie this weekend with a gun. And surprise, surprise, I didn’t kill anybody!

You can already carry a concealed handgun into other states, MOST states already have reciprocity, with several other states...

For Example, my Virginia Concealed Handgun Permit, is good in, North Carolina, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia, Florida, and SEVERAL others.

As long as I comply with the law, it is perfectly legal for me to carry my pistol into a movie theater in Virginia, West Virgina right NOW. I don't think it is in North Carolina, and I am unsure about many other states. It is MY responsibility, as a permit holder, to know the law before I go to those states.

They don't even know what they are arguing about.

Here is alink to where YOUR permit, is good in what state..

EDIT http://www.ccrkba.org/reciprocity.html

A Virginia CCW Permit, is good in these states...

AK*, AR, AZ, FL, ID, IN, KY, LA, MI, MO, MT, NC, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VT*, WV

12. Each State should have the right to determine if the carry law in other states offers sufficient
protection to its citizens. That just makes sense.

Against gay marrage....

I defer to the US Constitution...

Article IV

Section 1. Full faith and credit shall be given in each state to the public acts, records, and judicial proceedings of every other state. And the Congress may by general laws prescribe the manner in which such acts, records, and proceedings shall be proved, and the effect thereof.

might shoot up a theater if his ratings slip.

Usually only one creepy crazy person like a Glenn Beck can fit in them at a time, anyway.

23. I love bloombergs quote there.
What exactly do the police do about people bringing guns into theatres right now? I live in Wisconsin, where we have no CCW laws. There's no metal detectors, no police on hand and ready to act. Nothing of the sort. So anybody that wants to can bring a gun in, and chances are, because of our lack of CCW, a person that decides too isn't going to be up to any good.

Basically, Bloomberg has a problem with "the little people" being able to defend themselves. The "blood in the streets" arguments against CCW have proven to be completely bunk. It's time to get with the program on this one.

24. What a moron he is....
I wonder if he carried a revolver so that he could cock it back and watch the movie through the barrel? (If revolvers don't do that, be gentle. I'm not a gun person)

It must have added to the total experience in a big way. I wonder if he carries his gun when he ties his shoes, or if he is able to tie his shoes in the first place?

31. Yes, I was assuming....
Or maybe hoping that he trips over his shoelaces a lot.

Besides, don't Repubs consider loafers decadent? Loafers are nice and warm and a little loose. While they may like their lady friends that way, I thought such staunch advocates of pain and suffering for others would require extra proper and binding footwear;)

37. Yup...
that is why I was reveling in pleasant visions of him tripping over his shoelaces all the time. I doubt that he could tie his own shoes.

Even with loafers, though he would have to face the tough issue of getting them on the right foot. Another pleasant fantasy. Picture him stumping around going, "Glar! What in Hell's the matter with these shoes? They worked OK in the shoe store, but they haven't worked right ever since.;)

It probably sounded good to his viewers, but of course there's no requirement that it be true.

Hmm. On the other hand, if he says he didn't kill anyone, we should assume that he did.
