It's as if the "Greatest Page" is some kind of Holy Grail. Sheesh, I only use it to flip from one forum to another...and prefer to use the Lobby or "My DU" as my gateways here...easier to keep track and access around. If there's a post worth reading, good or bad, reads and replies tell me a lot more than "recommendations" (something I rarely if ever use...and when I do, I make sure to K&$ on the page to let the author know I'm doing it). Posts that are "important" always stay near the top of both GD and GD-P lists...I don't need someone's recommendation...almost always the post's title says it all.

I only wish my life were so "complicated" that I could angst over if my posts (which are rare) make it to the "Greatest"...those who know me or have an interest in the subject will always find it. Most of us are both grown up and fully capable of perusing a page and determining what each considers the "greatest".

I see no fiasco, I do see a few, relatively speaking, DUers who are not happy with the 'unrecommend' feature. I can't help but wonder why there weren't threads asking for the Greatest Page to disappear until this latest change which simply gives all DUers the opportunity to have input into which threads appear on that page.

With the new feature, I find I am taking greater care using recommend the way it was meant to be used, as a recommendation to the Greatest Page.
