The Unrecommend Feature SILENCES Free Speech and Dissent.

Anyone who does not like what you have to say can come along and silence you with a single click.

The unrecommend click has the very last word.

It silences and oppresses opposing views and it is wrong.

This is NOT what this country was founded upon and the founding fathers are no doubt they are rolling in their graves at what is happening in this country.

This is something out of one of Orwell's books.

But I'm sure the DLC loves it.

Is it just a coincidence that the biggest pains in the ass on this site are crying so hard about this feature?? The ones who fight with EVERYBODY and never have a kind word to say about the President, Congress or ANYTHING are the ones so threatened by a damned UNrecommend button??

Skinner had barely hit the switch on this new feature before folks were whining and screaming about it. DU is a damn trip sometimes.

This thread has been continually at the TOP of GD since AT LEAST midnight last night. That's ELEVEN HOURS of being "silenced".

Of course, I only used the rec and unrec for the first time, because I'm being a jackass today. Tomorrow I go back to not caring. If there are more posts like this, maybe I don't.

Why this seems like a new thing here is a great mystery to me.

But it sure struck me that way.

That is, not political moderates (or the DLC- who I'm not fond of either) but those in the "middle of the road" as far as DU's political spectrum.
