2. "You know what we really need right now? Someone both inexperienced AND erratic!"
GREAT cartoon. I've been enjoying watching her Repub supporters on talk shows helpfully say Well, she can spend this time learning about the issues..."

Uh huh. Maybe she can go to five more colleges before graduating to running for president.

10. Desperation Then, Even Worse Now...
I looked back at my post when Mooselini was selected by McCain. The word I used to describe the move was "desperation". Little did I realize how bottom of the barrel he and his inept party was scraping.

Palin was picked for what she was rather than who she was. It was a cyincal move to put "lipstick" on a middle aged, white man's party pig...projecting all sorts of "greatness" on a pretty face that was really an empty skirt. They hoped her osbcurity and "perky" would make her a media darling...and it almost worked until she went off script. Since then it's been one clusterfuck after another.

As noted during the Letterman "controversy", when the focus is on the candidate's personality or private life over their politics, they lose. Palin's ongoing reality show life has made her an irrelevant political figure but has enhanced her as a teevee attraction.

The fact the dead-enders in the GOOP can't realize the reailty show from the real world shows just how detached they are...and desperate!

12. Tom is always suprisingly well informed on events.

I wonder how he does it. He even knows about the "moran" wingnut spelling error.

14. "The Democrats won't know what hit them!"
Reminds me of what the republican guy who worked in the office next door said to me, the morning after McCain picked Palin. The guy must have thought I was a republican, because he smiled and said, "How 'bout that VP choice? That oughta shake 'em up!" I just smiled back and said, "I know it'll shake 'em up." The idea of Palin as VP shook up a lot of republicans -- enough to vote Democrat.

15. Republicans are getting hard to parody
Every day is so insane it's hard to exaggerate. And each week the GOP seems determined to top last week's crash and spin.
