1. Hey, I'd rather MJ than what we worshipped the last eight years.
Dude sang about peace, love, harmony, charity, environmentalism... Let's run with it.

7. And anti-Semitism, don't forget -
"Jew me, sue me...
Kick me, kike me......."

"They Don't Care About Us," on the album "HIStory."

3. Actually, it'd actually be pretty cool if "Thriller" was our National Anthem.
Who wouldn't want to stand and sing that before the ball game starts?

15. No thanks.
That song makes no sense at all as a national anthem.

9. Consider -
our troops withdrew from the metropolitan areas in Iraq today, and the newspapers are screaming about Jackson's kids.

Al Franken won, and the headlines are about Jackson's will.

Our priorities are sadly skewed, idolizing a past-his-prime pop star who lived a life of shoddy, irresponsible, reprehensible behavior, and managed to fool a lot of people along the way.......................

14. I am sick to death of the MJ hoopla. He was an entertainment figure of questionable
character at best. He doesn't merit much press in my book.

11.  I'm honest there something interesting about the guy
It's like watching Citizen Kane in real life unfold before your eyes. There's something fascinatingly odd about the guy and I find myself interested. There's a reason traffic slows down around a car crash. People can't help themselves to rubber neck. We are all mortal and death and particularly an odd death capping off a rather odd life just is fascinating. We claim we don't really want to know... but really we WANT to know.
