Al Franken will be sworn in next week and will be able to hit the ground running. His staff is already in place, and party leaders have reserved spots for him on four committees -- including those tackling health care reform and judicial nominees.

Adding Franken to the Senate would give Democrats the 60 votes needed for a filibuster-proof majority. Now the GOP-as-victims fireworks will really begin.

Democrats in the Senate are more than ready for Al Franken to join their ranks.

In anticipation of the Minnesota Supreme Court ruling in Franken’s favor, his party’s leaders reserved spots for him on four committees, including those taking up the health care overhaul and the Supreme Court nomination.

The expected court ruling, affirming that Franken defeated Republican Norm Coleman, was handed down Tuesday.

Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island has been temporarily filling the seat the Democrats reserved for Franken on the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee. . .Judiciary Committee . . . Special Aging and Indian Affairs panels.

4. Hagan is our new Senator from NC replacing Elizabeth Dole.

The only kind word I can say about Kay Hagan is that she is NOT Elizabeth Dole. Other than that, she pretty well stinks. Ran more to the left, votes with the conservative dems.

All of the conservative dems need to be tarred & feathered.

Fox news rules their brains when they're at home, and Rush and his ilk rule their brains when they're out & about. It is starting to really freak me out how much they are talking against health care....verbatim from Fox and rush....and they are buying guns and ammo at an alarming rate.
