our attention from the fact that every facet of the entire 'puke mantra and agenda is eaten up with with as much or more hypocrisy than the family values issue, to wit: the entire 'puke mantra and agenda is rotten, putrid, rancid, sanctimonious, reichous and hypocritical to the core with nary a redeeming feature. There, now the whole of 'pukedom has been summed it up but few words. :P

5. You forgot Rep Don Sherwood from PA-10 and PA state Rep Tom Druce
Don Sherwood
Cheated on his wife and assaulted his mistress.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don_Sherwood

PA State Rep Tom Druce
Was cruising the streets of Harrisburg late night with another woman when he hit a man with his car. He didn't stop to check to see who/what he had hit - if he did the man that he hit may still be alive. Instead he had the car damage repaired by the local bodyshop and then turned the car lease in early for a replacement one. Fortunately the bodyshop kept the damage parts and turned it into the police.

http://www.citypaper.net/articles/2003-07-24/cb4.shtml
Druce, you'll recall, was the up-and-coming state representative and Republican firebrand who ran into a bit of trouble late on July 27, 1999 when he ran into pedestrian Kenneth Cains on a Harrisburg street. Cains, a down-on-his-luck Marine Corps veteran, was killed instantly from the impact with Druce's taxpayer-leased Jeep Cherokee.

Ever concerned about the man on the street, Druce immediately drove the vehicle to Malcolm's Auto Repair & Body Shop in Warrington, just outside Philly, and paid the $3,000 repair bill out of his own pocket. He then turned the Jeep in before the lease was up. After receiving his new vehicle Druce went on his merry way, presumably without another thought to the crumpled body of Kenneth Cains, until an anonymous tipster sent police investigators a Christmas card months later implicating Druce as the hit-and-run perpetrator.

Telling police he thought he hit a sign, and then claiming to his insurance company that he hit a barrel on the turnpike, Druce weaseled as long as he could until investigators found the Jeep's bumper, still at Malcolm's shop, still crusted with Cains' hair, blood, and clothing. Druce then struck a deal with prosecutors: He'd plead guilty to evidence tampering, insurance fraud and leaving the scene of a fatal accident. In exchange, prosecutors dropped the most serious charge, vehicular homicide. Dauphin County Judge Joseph Kleinfelter subsequently sentenced him to two to four years in prison, which normally would be the end of the story. It's not

10. That was a big stink! I lived a block away from the garage he used
I went to work one more and the police were all over that garage although the garage owner even admitted something seemed funny so he opted to hold on to the part.

Years after he was convicted poor Tom Druced begged to be let out of jail because he had no means to support his family. Well what about the family of the man that he killed. Doctors said that if Druce had stopped and seen what had happened and then called the paramedics - that man would have survived. Poor guy died of losing too much blood.

But really the fun one is the Don Sherwood scandal. This guy was representing one of the safest Republican districts in the country but I guess Christian Values outweighed voting republican. The voters didn't think too lightly of their representative cheating on his wife and beating his mistress. Chris Carney, the democrat, has held the seat now for 2 terms and is probably a shoo-in for re-election. Mind you, Carney is one of the more moderate dems in the house but if Carney ever not run for that seat it would go back to a republcian.

Elliott Abrams - convicted in 1991 of unlawfully withholding information from Congress during the Iran-Contra Affair investigation. Pardoned by President George H. W. Bush after his loss in the 1992 election. Appointed by President George W. Bush as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director on the National Security Council for Near East and North African Affairs; later promoted to be Bushs Deputy National Security Advisor for Global Democracy Strategy.

Bob Ney - Republican Congressman from Ohio, resigned after pleading guilty to charges of conspiracy and making false statements in relation to the Jack Abramoff Indian lobbying scandal. Served 17 months of his 30-month prison sentence.

My information is from the Wikipedia bios of Abrams and Ney.

35. While it's true we have our bad boys (and girls)
I think the main difference is that unlike the Puke Party, we don't hold ourselves out to be party of "family values" or the defenders of the "sanctity of marriage." We don't wag our fingers at people telling them what awful sinners they are while secretly cheating on our spouse.

In other words: It's the hypocrisy!

As for your little list, well, they had Ted Bundy so that kinda cancels out Gacy. And like Gacy, neither Michael Skakel nor William Kennedy Smith held elective office. As for the other three, I don't know anything about them but again, the point is not so much about bad deeds, but about the enormous HYPOCRISY that accompanies them.

31. Another one--NY former congressman Randy Kuhl
Edited on Wed Jun-24-09 08:21 PM by BlancheSplanchnik
This article was written during his campaign. 2006 I think??? He did end up getting elected, sadly...a total boo$h rubber stamper.

Around this time, I happened to meet a couple who lived in the same town he did (still does?), who said he was often picked up drunk around town.

Perhaps he got elected because there was a blackout on news about his little character flaws.

Around

http://www.irregulartimes.com/randykuhl.html

The original photocopies of the Kuhl divorce papers may be found at a web site called Blue Lemur.

The basic lowdown:

* In September, 1997, Randy Kuhl was arrested for driving drunk, and then refused to enter counseling for alcoholism.

* Randy Kuhl tried to pick up other women in front of his wife at a bar in Syracuse, New York.

* While hosting a dinner party at their own home, Randy Kuhl "took out two shotguns and threatened to shoot" his wife.

* Randy Kuhl "has been guilty of cruel and inhuman treatment and of such other conduct as may render it unsafe" for his wife to live with him.

Randy Kuhl and his ex-wife has issued a joint statement criticizing whoever released their divorce papers. However, neither Kuhl nor his ex-wife have denied the truth of what was found in those papers. Essentially, Kuhl has admitted that it's all true.

....His campaign web site does not inform visitors of what his positions on various issues are. Instead, the web site is filled with announcements of endorsements by powerful people. Combined with Kuhl's abusive history, his public emphasis of power over substance should serve as a powerful warning to voters in his district. Kuhl seems more interested in what he has the power to get away with than in what he can accomplish with the power that he's given.

32. Addendum: The Roche (sic) Of Hillsdale College
Salon: Sex, lies and suicide
On the morning of Oct. 17, 42-year-old Lissa and her husband, George Roche IV, visited the 64-year-old Roche at the hospital, where he was undergoing treatment for diabetes. With her husband and father-in-law as witnesses, Lissa claimed that she and the elder Roche had been off-and-on lovers for 19 of the 21 years she and her husband had been married. Lissa returned to her campus house after the confession and armed herself with a .38-caliber handgun. She walked out of her backyard and through the college's arboretum to a stone gazebo, a secluded location where students once went to relax, guzzle a few beers or liaise with members of the opposite sex. There, Lissa ended her life.

50. Republican values, not conservative values
Today's Republicans are no more true conservatives than Bush Lite was compassionate.

I don't care what phony label they use. Their propaganda outlet, Fox "News" is not a news
station, but a living violation of the Truth in Advertising law.

Be on the lookout for the new The Freedom Toast video about the Republicans. I just heard
the sound track. This will be fun!

Two edits:

You can add to John Ellis Bush the fact that he was also arrested in 2005 and charged with public intoxication and resisting arrest. So much for that law and order shit!

To G. Gordon Liddy you can add that he urged his listeners to deal with federal police agents with, "head shots, head shots ... Kill the sons of bitches ... Shoot twice to the belly and if that does not work, shoot to the groin area. Arm yourself. Get instructed in how to shoot straight. And don't register either." When his caller replied, "And I'm aiming between their eyes." Liddy replied, "There you go. That way their flak jackets won't protect them."

70. Why isn't Gary Bauer on this list?
In Slate, arguments pro and con about the hard proof ==> http://www.slate.com/id/35836 /
The Gary Bauer Scandal

If reporters had the evidence, they could have produced it. If not, they could have closed their notebooks and walked away. Instead, they interrogated Bauer for half an hour in front of eight TV cameras and wrote articles suggesting that whether or not he had had an affair, he was wrong to have left open the possibility that anyone might have thought he had done anything wrong. The scandal isn't that Bauer committed adultery. The scandal is that without proving that charge or even making it, the media have found ways to spin lesser, derivative, and empty insinuations about him into a national story. Let's examine the charges against him.

In "The Skeleton Closet," the case against him ==> http://www.realchange.org/bauer.htm
Gary Bauer's Skeleton Closet

Unfortunately for him, his record isn't quite as squeaky clean as his speeches. And if you wanted to be mean, you could say he is barely 5 foot tall and looks like a cross between a gay Grinch and Mr. Bean, but that wouldn't be fair.

Consider these allegations:
* Affair with a 26-year old staff member
* Taking Big Money From the Moonies
* Avoided the Vietnam War
* Quotes
* Sources

Oh, wait. Maybe it's not true. After all, ==> http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/WPcap/1999-09/30/0...
Bauer Says He Did Not Have Affair

Charles Jarvis, the former Bauer campaign chairman who defected to the campaign of Steve Forbes, and Tim McDonald, former chief of advance operations, said Bauer spent hours behind closed doors with her and traveled alone with her, violating the strict rules they believe govern conservative Christian married men in their dealings with women.

<snip>

With his wife and three children at his side, Bauer yesterday called a news conference to try to damp down the controversy, which he charged was being whipped up by an unnamed rival campaign. Aides later said he was referring to the Forbes campaign.

"The core idea of this rumor campaign is that I have violated the vows I made to my wife 27 years ago," Bauer said. "These rumors and character assassination are disgusting, outrageous, evil and sick. They are trash-can politics at its worst. . . . I have not violated my vows."

73. Many RW politicians supported giving aid to Osama bin Laden....
and other Islamist psychos during the 1980s, simply because they were fighting the Soviet Army in Afghanistan. The CIA knew those guys were absolute psychos...many of whom committed outright terrorist attacks against pro-Soviet Afghan civilians, not to mention women who refused to wear a veil.

Pretty much everybody on this forum knows that the Afghan Mujahideen were given advanced surface-to-air missiles (most notably the Stinger) to shoot down Soviet Mi-24 attack helicopters and fixed-wing strike jets such as the Su-25 (basically the Russian equivalent of the A-10). What most people don't know is that they shot down a CIVILIAN airliner with those missiles in Kabul in 1985, killing about fifty innocent people.

Afghan resistance members were taught by the CIA how to attack and raid convoys, since Soviet tanks and armored vehicles often went along the narrow roads. Many of them went on to become the Taliban and al-Qaeda and are using what they learned against our soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan today. The CIA also taught them how to make roadside bombs...yet another threat our troops have to face today. The CIA partially funded the expansion of cave complexes, not unlike Tora Bora, where Osama bin Laden was hiding in 2001.

Many CIA agents knew that a lot of these guys were total nutcases. This was relayed to top government officials, which were nearly all GOP during the Reagan days. In fact, some even feared giving the Stinger to the Afghan Mujahideen, for fear that a few would turn up in Iran and be used against Western interests. But since the Islamists were fighting the big bad Russkies at the time, it was deemed all right to give them the most advanced hand-held weaponry in the U.S. Army arsenal. And that's why we still have to deal with a lot of those psychos today.
