Goodbye, DU.

Due to some circumstances beyond my control, I'm having to leave DU indefinitely. Note the 'having' in that last sentence - not 'wanting' - and so this isn't some screed about how horrible everyone here is, how much I disagree with X, etc.

I know I've had my run-ins with some of you in the past, and I know I have let my ego get to me at times (as I suspect we all have), but through it all I have thoroughly enjoyed your company. I feel I have benefited greatly from my time here. You've taken the time to teach me when I was ignorant, the time to correct me when I was wrong, and the time to be here for me when I needed you. This place has been a sort of second home to me, and so it is with great regret that I have to say goodbye.

I will still be around some today, so feel free to PM me or post here and I will respond before I sign off.

7. DU Vacations Are A Good Thing...

I've taken several over my 8 years here. Also, my rule is to do more lurking than posting. While I let my fingers get the best of me in the morning, the rest of the day I'm checking in just to read what's happening...no need for me to post anything. DU can be a fun and valuable place...as long as you keep it in a proper place in your own mind.

I am still in law school and am interning at a firm this summer - that's all still going according to plan. It's really quite a long, boring tale as to why I'm leaving. Suffice it to say that I appreciate your well-wishes, and return them to you. I know we haven't always gotten along or agreed, but I will say that I always admired your tenaciousness and intellect.
