My bet is a buxom blonde bimbo named something like Amber Appalachians known for her "Smokey Mountains"

2. Something tells me we going to find this entertaining before it's over.
I've always thought there was something really wrong with this guy. Now he's removing all doubt.

I've been looking for other instances of erratic behavior. I remember him taking the pigs into the Statehouse after a budget argument with the legislature, but I can't find anything else (except the fight over the stimulus money). Can you think of anything?

5. Not really.
I've always thought he was slice short of a full loaf. He was one odd duck.

6. Good, indeed!
Do they not have airports in South Carolina?

Why hop in one of your security detail's SUVs and drive all the way to Atlanta to catch a flight -- all on the DL?

Isn't Atlanta a big hub for international flights?

7. Isn't this
The first time a sitting governor disappeared like this without telling anyone? I smell a rat.

9. Christine Gregoire of Washington State was unavailable for a couple of days either earlier this year
or late last year. She was in Iraq. The state was not left unprotected, however. I believe the Lieutenant Governor was in charge, everyone knew she was gone, and the only reason her destination wasn't initially announced was security considerations.

8. This story gets fishier and fishier
and I keep flashing on "The Death and Life of Reginald Perrin."

Rossiter was better looking than the pinched and uptight governor, though.
