MAKE YOUR OWN DOG COOKIES
lots of free recipes on line

some are more involved than others to make. with 2 greyhounds and an Airedale - weighing anywhere from 65lbs-80lbs we make up about 15-17 dozen a week.

The peanut butter and corn oil in the cookies has done wonders for the greyhounds coat and skin. Little to no dandruff, and their coat is shiny and soft

9. That's why we have the cat box in a separate room that only the cat can reach!
What's that christmas candy - "roche"? Just like nut bars!

7. Thanks. Then again, my dogs already think that whatever I'm cooking is for them
I don't need to encourage them.

They don't beg, but they do get excited and lay on the kitchen floor in strategic "tripping" points waiting for things to drop.

I'll definitely check out both the dog and cat food recipes.

Thanks

Like that'll ever happen!

Carrots, brocoli, califlower are the best for "diets", apples are good but have more sugar.

My "children" are happy with carrots and apples best - they hold the carrots between their paws like bones!

They even get an occasional cherry, endami & blueberry - they love them all...

But I can appreciate the thought behind your suggestion - I've just got too many MORE IMPORTANT things to check off my "to-do" list - dog cookies are not even on the list...

I heard on NPR's All Things Considered a couple of days ago that pet food recipe books are flying off the shelves after languishing there for years. There's no surer way to force corporations to change than to mess with their bottom lines...and their bottom lines are definitely taking some heavy hits lately. I'm glad that so many people are willing to forego a bit of personal convenience in order to give the welfare of their pets the priority it deserves.

12. our two SENIOR cats (ages 18 and 21)
get extra home made food in addition to the regular stuff

once a week I cook up some chicken parts and giblets, strip'em down and run it through the food processor., it gets added into their regular diet.

The Senior cats are also both on hyper-thyroid meds so they also get the extra food to help keep the weight on

The other 3 cats are on diets...to lose weight...
