11. Why not talk about Rosie? What else does he have?
He was such a suck-up "journalist" cheer leading for Bushco, but now even he is at a loss. So, he's gone from pseudo journalism to a Hollywood gossip monger. At least with Rosie, he can pretend he has a drop of journalism to him. Plus, he can pretend he's macho. All he does is show he's a joke. And we thought Rosie was the comic.

20. Well there is something wierd about that Bldg 7
Don't know what it is but something doesn't feel right. That being said if she wants to act as a liberal voice she should try sticking to the facts not the speculation so I do agree with you there. You mentioned that it seems personal to Scarborough, I think that's true, he's done the same thing with John Stewart, I was beginning to think he had a crush on him till Joe switched from Stewart to O'Reilly and now to Rosie. Maybe tomorrow he'll switch over to Keith Richards...

24. I guess you could say Olbermann has a similar thing for O'Really but it's deserved...
Joe's obsession just seems to be irrational and maniacal. There's probably more to it than we know or he'll say.
Obviously I don't care to get into a protracted discussion about WTC7 here, I just think she'd be serving the cause better by skipping what comes across as nutty to 99% of republicans and ~3/4 of Democrats. :-)

Edited on Thu Apr-05-07 09:28 PM by walldude
of it all day, if something is weird about it I'm sure we'll find out just as soon as we figure out who really killed Kennedy.. As far as Olbermann goes, yeah I think he's just enjoying himself and trying like hell to get O'Reilly dragged off by the men in the funny white coats, which if you saw the O'Reilly vs Geraldo thread it's obvious he's getting close. I find that funny where as I just find Scarborough creepy. Lemme get you the link for the O'Reilly meltdown, it's unreal.

edit: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x587405 O'Reilly vs Geraldo, it came close to blows...

29. Well, you probably won't like what I'll briefly say on these matters, which is okay.
I love a good conspiracy as much as anyone but I can't embrace one just because I'd like for it to be true. I do not believe anybody except Oswald killed JFK. I don't believe there was anything suspicious about WTC7 and absolutely reject any notions, which I consider borderline insane, that the twin towers had implanted explosives.

Not that I don't think Bushco was and is capable of the most vile machinations...there are plenty of those glaringly evident, it's just that as an engineer and commercial pilot both for over 40 years I look at these things dispassionately and a view to rational explanations which I think cover these clearly. I did, coincidentally, see the O'Really/Geraldo video just a few minutes ago.

We probably won't agree on some of this but it's refreshing to be able to discuss them civilly. :D

Edited on Thu Apr-05-07 10:07 PM by walldude
any suspicions I have about things like Kennedy, and the WTC are just that, little nagging suspicions, I certainly wouldn't debate the merits of those things on a hunch and I certainly wouldn't go on national TV and attempt to persuade people a la Rosie. I'm nuts enough as it is and don't need any PR in that department. The only reason I got into this conversation is it was you I was conversing with. There are a few posters on DU that seem to mirror most of my thoughts and your name is one that I see a lot. Cheers :toast:

35. You should be a diplomat! Check that, you actually are.
:D

Not one thing wrong with nagging suspicions...I have plenty of those myself. And with deference to Cat who I imagine won't mind our semi-hijacking the thread, and to keep it all down to a dull roar, I have plenty of questions about 9/11
that haven't been properly addressed that don't even need speculation about controlled demolition or any of that sort of stuff - not the least of which is Chimpy's behavior in Sarasota on getting the 'news.'

But that's getting way off topic. ;-)

40. jumping in on your hijacked subthread...
Edited on Thu Apr-05-07 10:57 PM by frogcycle
I find the various convoluted stories about planted explosives and missiles vs planes and all just wacko...

but the response...
there was a lot that was wacko in the response - or nonresponse

such as the 7-minute delay, the unbelievably lame response of FAA/military - although the incompetance over FEMA kind of validates that that could just have been incompetance too

so while I believe the damage was caused physically as generally accepted, who knew what when remains, in my mind, open to question

maybe they DID just get a windfall and make the most of it. Or maybe they helped - or let - it happen.

41. Many DU'ers believe in the LIHOP theory
(Let It Happen On Purpose) It's certainly more plausible than made it happen. We better cut this out though, I don't want to get Cat's thread locked, the 9/11 forum is the place for this discussion.

45. Truth be known, I'm just a few millimetres away from LIhop.
It would not take a lot more to convince me that PNAC/Bushco had at least an 'inkling' of 9/11. Given the August 01 PDB and their subsequent apologia "Nobody would ever imagine people flying planes into buildings", ad nauseum,
it's damnably tough to suppose they didn't see the upcoming opportunity. I want to think the truth will actually come out some day, though. ;-)

50. Yes, it was.
I certainly agree that the specifics you mentioned in other posts are worthy of study. I guess I am just willing to examine more than you, and not reject anything because I don't consider it plausible. Or maybe I consider it plausible that JFK was murdered by more than one man, simply because it's obvious that RFK was. It's like the CIA drug smuggling through the last half century. I notice a pattern.

Her error was compound: Fire can melt steel (fucking duh) and steel doesn't need to become molten before it looses half of its strength.
She was unwittingly repeating right-wing CT site bullshit, and I'm hoping she retracts the absolutely false portions of her righteous rant after her vacation.
