Anyone else listening to House committee hearing on healthcare?

It just broke up so members on the House panel could go vote....will be back whenever the voting is finished.

I thought this hearing was to hear advocates for single payer and yet an 'expert' witness, Dr.David Gratzer and member of the Manhattan Institute, I think it said, has done nothing but bash single payer and was last heard defending our wonderful healthcare in the U.S. particularly in the area of research stating that MD Anderson in Houston does more research than the entire country of Canada. SO???? He also stated that most of the new drugs come from the U.S. All I could think was, 'no, dah' big pharma knows the values of patent life.

I didn't hear the very beginning but came in on part of Rep. Conyers oral statement. Maybe I'm wrong but I was most disappointed. His thoughts were disjointed and did not present a clear path for the reasons to adopt single payer....

The RN who spoke was good. She made many points of how our healthcare system fails us even sometimes for those with insurance.

I was hoping that one of the panel members would point out the financial savings that SP would accrue in the future.

Over-all, I am disappointed. Maybe it will get better after the voting break.

Gatzer is a creep for the Manahattan Institute. He is the repubs frosting on their cake yuk.

I think it is just to appease and means nothing this meeting..nothing....to those who will pass a bill.
