GOP Senator: Hillary Said Releasing Detainee Photos Will Endanger Diplomats Around The World

Wow, if this is true, it’s really something: GOP Senator Lindsey Graham said today that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton privately told him that if photos of detainee abuse are released, it will endanger diplomats all over the world.

...........

The thing that’s getting all the attention about their presser today is Graham and Lieberman’s claim that they will shut down the government to insure that the amendment is included. But I’d say this nugget from the presser also deserves a look:

Graham claimed that the former New York senator has told him the release of new pictures detailing detainee abuse could endanger diplomats around the world.

“Secretary Clinton is very concerned,” said Graham…

Is that really true? Did Hillary really say that? Seems worth finding out.

4. I'm starting to have mixed feelings
I know it would be in the interest of truth to have them released, but I do think some of it is just revenge feelings.
You know... get back at Bush...

Now I'm thinking Hillary and Obama may be right. It could really stir things up for the troops, diplomats, and many other folks. Just because assholes like Lieberman are against the release doesn't mean they may not be right.

I'm really torn.

5. Maybe they should look for other work.
Or, maybe we should get the hell out of the occupied countries where they're in danger.

7. I think we're tougher than that
Yeah, the photos might pose a danger to foreign service personnel. But right now, they're in quite a bit of danger already. Get the facts out, face up to what we've done, punish the perpetrators and demonstrate to the world that the United States is going to conduct its affairs in line with its own laws and with the laws of the international community.

Yes, there will be people upset who want to strike back at the U.S. Here's a news flash: There's a lot of people in that camp already. If we're going to reduce tensions, defuse the righteous anger of our victims and their survivors, and once again claim moral leadership, we need to lance this infection and drain out all the poison.

8. Oh, here we go again.
"Janie said that if you saw the pictures of what I did with Steve you would be SO pissed off it would endanger other girls in gym class, so I'm not going to show you the pictures. Hee hee!"

Fucking release the pictures or not, don't keep yammering about how pissed people would be if they saw them.

9. If only
If only the senators, congressmen, and the generals had been so concerned when all of this was actually going on.

If only......
