Vets for Peace 5 days of Action to Stop use fo Torture ! For Military Men and Women
Veterans For Peace is sponsoring five days of action to stop the use of torture!

Picture Yourself Against Torture - Add your face to the growing list of others who call for no more torture. We will eventually give all photos to the White House!

http://www.veteransforpeace.org/5_Days_against_torture.vp.html

President Obama refuses to release pictures of prisoners abused while in U.S. custody. Veterans For Peace calls on the President to “release the photos!”

We are collecting hundreds of pictures of people including veterans, kids, teachers, etc and will be adding the photos to this website and also sending each and every photo to the White House!

Why release the pictures?

* We have a right to know what the U.S. government has done in our name.
* We the U.S. public must access the proper course of action to take regarding the use of torture as a policy of our government. We need all available information to be fully informed citizens.
* Releasing the photos will show that the U.S. is not hiding behind the rhetoric of national security and give the world confidence that our government can be trusted.
* Candidate Obama promised transparency in his administration and President Obama should live up to his promises.
* Releasing the photos will help restore U.S. credibility around the world.

Releasing the photographs will allow the people of our nation to assess what our government has done in our name and act accordingly. It will show that we as U.S. citizens can face our shame and emerge better from the experience. It will show that our Republic is strong and can weather most any storm.

It is of vital interest to military men and women all over the world that protections against torture and cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment be even-handedly applied by all nations at all times. This is the only way we can assure that these protections will be afforded to our citizens if and when they become prisoners in the conduct of war.

Americans are outraged by our government's use of torture and the lack of criminal prosecution. We can do something about it!
