PHOENIX — Phoenix police say a man was arrested after he sexually assaulted his girlfriend while she was passed out and broadcast the attack live on the Internet.

A probable-cause statement says 20-year-old Jonathan Richard Hock was arrested Monday on two counts of sexual assault, one count of kidnapping and one count of taking a surreptitious photo.

The court document said Hock set up a computer Web camera and sexually assaulted his girlfriend in her bedroom as she was unconscious from drinking Feb. 26.

According to police, Hock streamed the video of the rape on the web, giving commentary about it and bragging to anyone who happened to be logged on and watching.

The victim says she had been dating Hock for about two weeks when it happened. He allegedly set up the webcam in her own bedroom before the two began drinking, and then waited for to pass out. The assault took place after she'd been asleep for about four hours

before they started drinking. If the allegation is true, the boy is scum and deserves whatever punishment. But if there were other things going on that were originally consented to but now are claimed not to have been because of embarrassment, then the boy may be prosecuted for more than he's guilty of. I think "maybe it was consensual" is excuse-making in the extreme. I guess the remote possibility exists, if they agreed before hand that she would get drunk, pass out, then he would assault her while she's unconscious. And, maybe, if there was a third party present, protecting her interests while she's out cold. But all that seems really far-fetched, to me.

I think the inability to withdraw consent (she being unconscious) throws the "consensual" argument out the window.

Maybe "sick fuck, he should go to jail" is a knee-jerk reaction. I don't think it's unjustified, tho, in this case where an unconscious victim is not only assaulted, but that assault is broadcast into the tubes. :hi:

46. Oddly enough, something similar happened to me.

I once woke up to find the woman I was dating at the time on top of me. I was asleep in her room, I was very shocked but completed the encounter. She told me after that it been one of her fantasies to do something like that. To this day, I'm not sure how I feel about it.

This is rape and that guy needs to go to jail.
