Disgraced former Senate Republican aide calls on McConnell to filibuster Sotomayor.

Right-wing activist Manuel Mirdanda coordinated a letter that will be delivered to Senate Republicans today from “more than 145 conservatives” calling for a filibuster of the nomination of Judge Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court. Going further than the letter, Miranda told Politico that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) should “consider resigning” his leadership role if he can’t “take a harder line” on Sotomayor. In 2004, Miranda struck a slightly different tone, calling filibustering judicial nominees “unprecedented, unconstitutional.” As Greg Sargent notes, as an aide to then Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-TN) in 2004, Miranda was caught “hacking into the computers of Senate {Democrats} and downloading thousands of documents relating to the strategies of {Democratic} Senators on judicial nominations.” Miranda resigned and now runs Third Branch Conference, “a coalition of conservatives focused on judges.”

1. We have known for years that the crazies migrate toward the
Repugs but has anyone ever figured out exactly why they hire them?

I'm beginning to think that the GOP runs a rap sheet for anyone who submits a resume and if it isn't at least 2-3 pages long they don't get considered for the job. They only want people who are educationally challenged (Liberty College), stupefiedly* incurious (Chucklenuts Bush), missing ethical and morality genes, any possible innate goodness (oh, lord, that list is endless) and the willingness to go on any TV show, write in any newspaper, shrill on any radio station (even at the expense of confirming the above mentioned traits of themselves) for the "good" of the GOP. Unfortunately they always find each other and the madness continues.

Please, Mitch McChinless, listen to this guy. Chinless and this guy have done such fine jobs for the repugs I can only hope they continue. Call for that filibuster - I dare ya.

*stupefiedly - not sure if that is even a word but it fits for this bunch!
