2. Abortion is legal in Iran
with the approval of a husband, father, older brother, or other first degree male relative in the case of an unmarried woman.

Abortion is just peachy if MEN get to dictate who gets it and who doesn't.

7. Know what else is legal in Iran? Sex change operations
Edited on Mon Jun-01-09 10:18 PM by Canuckistanian
And apparently doctors are quite skilled at it.

The reasoning is, if you're a homosexual, you get a chance to get a sex change operation. See, being gay in Iran is treated as a correctable disease.

And if you DON'T take advantage of the free surgery, you're executed for sexual perversion.

Nice country, eh?

6. Women on Waves help women in other countries
For a safe and legal choice
Every 8 minutes somewhere in the world a woman dies needless as a result of illegal, unsafe abortion. In response to this violation of womens human rights and medical need, Women on Waves sails to countries where abortion is illegal. This is done at the invitation of local women's organizations. With the use of a ship, early medical abortions can be provided safely, professionally and legally. Women on Waves aims to prevent unsafe abortions and empower women to exercise their human rights to physical and mental autonomy, by combining free healthcare services and sexual education with advocacy. Women on Waves is a non-profit organization.

But I don't want my country to be on their list that need to be visited.
