Intruders ransack mosque, leave 'Bush was here' note

Associated Press

TUCSON - A mosque has been targeted by intruders for the second time in two months, authorities said.

"We are beginning to wonder if this is a hate crime," Muhammad As'ad, a spokesman for the Islamic Center of Tucson, said on Tuesday.

The Arizona chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, which issued a news release about the Sunday incident, said the mosque office was ransacked. Before the intruders left, they wrote "Bush was here" on a computer monitor, the release said.

FBI agent Deborah McCarley said that just because "Bush was here" was scrawled on a computer monitor does not automatically classify the incident as a hate crime.

2. Have the police considered that...
...maybe Bush was there? It seems like the kind of childish, petulant thing he'd do, and scrawling his name at the scene of the crime fits both his narcissism and his stupidity. Worth considering.

7. Breaking News: Gavin Rossdale arrested for B&E/hate crime.
When Arizona authorities were asked how Mr. Rossdale could have possibly committed the crime when he was 8,000 miles away in bed, they replied, "he's very clever."

9. Saying "Bush was here," or worse, Bush being there, ...
should itself be a hate crime. ;-)
