People get the terminology right. Dr. Tiller was assassinated. Not murdered.
From Webster:

1 : to injure or destroy unexpectedly and treacherously
2 : to murder (a usually prominent person) by sudden or secret attack often for political reasons

From Wikipedia:

Assassination is the targeted killing of a public figure. Assassinations may be prompted by ideological, political, or military reasons. Additionally, assassins may be motivated by financial gain, revenge, personal public recognition, or mental illness.

This was not a random killing nor was it just premeditated murder. Dr. Tiller was assassinated for his political and religious beliefs. Plain and simple.

1. Assasination is the correct term
Tiller was a high profile figure. Targeting him was for a reason. This was to scare other Doctor's from performing the medical procedure.

If they can't overturn the law they don't like, they will intimidate the doctors.

Pure and simple tactic.

5. Hey it's late... I'll kick it in the morning.
This is the article that convinced me of it. This guy was on a crusade and had many accomplices.

http://www.mcclatchydc.com/251/story/69151.html

Those who know Roeder said he believed that killing abortion doctors was an act of justifiable homicide.

"I know that he believed in justifiable homicide," said Regina Dinwiddie, a Kansas City anti-abortion activist who made headlines in 1995 when she was ordered by a federal judge to stop using a bullhorn within 500 feet of any abortion clinic. "I know he very strongly believed that abortion was murder and that you ought to defend the little ones, both born and unborn."

Dinwiddie said she met Roeder while picketing outside the Kansas City Planned Parenthood clinic in 1996. Roeder walked into the clinic and asked to see the doctor, Robert Crist, she said.

"Robert Crist came out and he stared at him for approximately 45 seconds," she said. "Then he (Roeder) said, 'I've seen you now.' Then he turned his back and walked away, and they were scared to death. On the way out, he gave me a great big hug and he said, 'I've seen you in the newspaper. I just love what you're doing.'^"

12. Dr. Tiller was assassinated by a domestic terrorist.
And it was all fueled by right wing media propaganda.

It's time for accountability in the media.
