DU Help please.
My Mom passed away yesterday.

Does anyone know a good charity that is working to help the returning Iraq vets? Rather than flowers, we would our family to donate to a cause that she believed in.

Although firmly against the war, she was (like all of us) very concerned about the damage being done to our troops.

Any help would be appreciated.

We went with the Bob Woodruff group.

We all lost someone good. She was 85, still active, sharp as a tack, a registered democrat, and a super voter - would never even miss a primary.

She was run over by a car driven by an 82 year old woman. My heart goes out to that poor woman. One senior woman's life was ended while another's life was doomed to mental anguish.

When I was a kid, Mom was an Eisenhower Republican. Nothing to be ashamed of there because if today's Republican party was still the party of the 1950s we would be a better country. It was the Republican party that left her. And once they did, her eyes opened further and she became more liberal as her awareness and her age increased.

I got her first computer for her 85th birthday in late February.

I never even got a chance to show her how to email; that was next week's lesson...

Thanks again.
